Please help an AdWords newbie get going
- SEO |
I'm just trying my first go at AdWords, and don't seem to be getting very far.
I'm being cautious, as I've heard too many stories of newbies burning large amounts of cash on AdWords campaigns, so maybe my lack of results is from that.
Anyway, I started off with a keyphrase that Google's keyword tool says gets an average of 90,500 searches per month. The traffic estimator reckons that a CPC of 50p to 1GBP (around $1-$2) should give me positions 4-6, and generate around 4-6 clicks per day.
I created three similar ads and put them into a group. I added the two-word phrase in square brackets (exact term) as the keywords, and set it going.
It has been running for about 24 hours now, and has had 58 impressions, and not one single click. I realise that my first go at an ad is likely to have a much lower CTR than one done by a pro, but I was hoping for more than 58 impressions out of the 3000 daily searches, and at least one click out of those 58 impressions. I have read up a lot about AdWords, and IM in general, and should be able to write a reasonable ad.
Anyone any ideas what I might do? As I said, I'm completely new at AdWords, having read a lot, but never done it until yesterday. I might just be too impatient, or too bad at it.
Please help me get going!
Thanks,
Alan
