Is there a google dance for videos?

I uploaded a video for a local keyword two weeks ago and it got to number one in google video search in less than a day. It was on page 16 of google regular search. It got to page 7 in the regular search last week.

When I type the same keyword into youtube my video is the first to pop up. But no matter how many pages back I go in google, I cannot find my video. My question is, does google do a dance for ranking videos? Or did I get smacked?

First there are some things you have to know and consider here. The Youtube Search Engine and Google has different algos so you cant compare there results. If your video is ranking number in Youtube you cant expect that you will be on page one on Google also.

But regarding your question, Google treats videos almost the same as websites but the only thing is they cannot appreciate the content of the video and Videos get indexed faster. Videos can be indexed in just a couple of hours. In that sense there could be a Google Dance for your Video.

I understand that. But what I noticed is that in youtube, it didn't rank right away and now it does. In google it ranked right away and then disappeared. I need to be patient and see if it comes back in google.

I've noticed there to be less of a 'google dance' with videos from youtube but have not tested others.

Anybody have any more input on this. I had a video rapidly climb the ranks with backlinks and views to the first page and today it disappeared.

      Too many links to quick?

I have the same experience. Did your video come back? If so how long before you saw it again and did it increase in ranking? Is it still ranking?

I would rather call it ranking fluctuations... Yes, video rankings do fluctuate. The reason is, freshness of the content. Google will rank the fresh video on the top.

I've noticed that when I've uploaded a video, after a week or so it disappears from the normal results for a few days but does come back again. It only seems to happen the once from what I've noticed.

I had couple of experiences about that also... Videos suddenly disappear but normally reappear after a day or so.
