SERP decrease due to page updates?

Hi all,

I recently modified one of my internal pages quite a bit. It used to rank #2 and ever since has declined to #4. Is it possible that I am experiencing a decrease due to the major changes I made? SEO wise I think I kept everything just about the same (in terms of headings, title, etc). I just modified the layout quite a bit.

Just wondering if anyone had experienced something similar and if it just temporary or if I should look into reverting back to my old setup?

Thanks!

I have experienced SERP shakeups after editing a page or adding info to it. For me they typically recovered within a few days. This was generally just from adding content/images and re-arranging some things, but I did not change anything else.

It will not affect a lot if you didn't make any lot of changes in title and description. Changing the title and description will drop the ranking.

It could be the google dance -if it doesn't revert to the old rankings, maybe you should switch back to your old setup and see what happens. If the rankings aren't restored still, then maybe some other kind of SEO work needs to be done.

This is not a big problem.Ranking just goes up and down as there are many competitor in this field.Work hard to regain the position. It is a normal process.
