I don't know, i haven't purchased his product yet, however, his site has a free report where he explains how the software works, including the 'Real Competition' portion.

    From the Free Report:
Did you know that typing the keywords in quotes doesn't give you the REAL number of competing pages? Google isn't that fast.

Google is telling you that from the time you hit search it took 0.23 seconds to find 105,000,000 pages with the phrase weight loss.

    Come on Google, that's impossible!!

But you can make Google tell you the truth if you know how to ask.

First go to Google and do a search in quotes, let's say "weight loss", then you go to the end of the url displayed by Google at the top of your browser and type in &start=990 and hit enter.

Scroll to the bottom of the page, were Google tells you the REAL number of relevant pages for that keyword.

So it is not 105,000,000... Google only considers 847 results as the most relevant for this search query. This is your real competition.

    What, only 847 competing pages?

Yes, but don't let this mislead you, 847 is really competitive you want to go after keywords with 0 to 400 REAL competing pages.
I've tried it, and it works, so I would guess that the software does the same thing, and gives you fairly accurate results.

Just bought this. Doesn't seem to be anything new or impressive. I'm giving it one more day and it's going back, like 99% of all the software I buy. IMO nothing new.

      Nothing to see here

I'm afraid I'm in the same boat. The Amazing keywords aren't that amazing when run through MS. Why not just use MS? Not seeing the advantage here......

So I got a bunch of keywords and it was ranked as "amazing". Later on, I found out most of the top 10 sites on those keywords were ranked 6-8 with high quality backlinks. I don't recommend it.

Sounds like you may need to read or at least reread the book he includes with it. He very clearly states there are 4 things to check. His tool does the first two very quickly and accurately.

Step 3 tells you to check the competition of the top 10 ranking sites using things like market samurai. IF there is too much competition then dont bother trying to rank for that word.

The 4th critical step requires a tool that is almost never used, a brain! yes he advises to go and look at competing sites and see if they have decent content and is real and interesting and make the eval yourself to see if you think you can out rank based on what you know.

Or you can use your brain and not use this program.

Exactly. If I buy a tool called Stealth Keyword Competition Analyzer and the manual says use your brain to go check for yourself whether you can really outrank a site it deems as "amazing", then my brain tells me to ask for a refund.

Any tool that looks at the number of pages in the index as a sign of the level of competition should not be trusted. That has NOTHING to do with the difficulty of ranking for a keyword. You need to analyze the top 3 sites. You need to look at things like the amount and quality of their backlinks, the anchor text used, the OBLs on pages linking to them, and the internal link profile of the site.

MS at least gives you a start in terms of numbers of links of the top 10 sites. The competition matrix is an easy way to glance quickly at the competition on a kw to see if it's even worth your time. I think domain age, PR, keywords in URL/domain etc. all factor in as well....

Acid test: Have used the prog to actually register and publish ~10 domains. Little and difficult success in rankings. Cannot believe his "Real Competition" figures. For keyword "traffic to your website" "Real Competition" is 784, allinurl= 277,000, Google in parenthesis=42,600,000 - I mean . . . really!!!

I would suggest, if you are in starting point in IM then don't buy any software, they are helpful but they are not helpful for newbie.

The first thing, you may have invested money and I assume at least $50, this is tension in your mind that you have invested and you have to get the return, it would lack focus on whatever you are doing.

I would say do it manually, search engines like manual work, you would build confidence in yourself if your work is liked by others.

Thanks for the reviews, I was just about to buy the new version of this. Sounds like it's not worth it. If it were $10-15 I might try it but not for $27 (here at WF) ($37 on developer's site).

I just asked for a refund on Traffic Travis after trying it for 60 days. I was really happy with the SEO aspect of it - it gave good tips on problems with my metatags, description tags, H1 headers etc etc.. (Though all that info can be gotten in other ways for cheap or free.)

So when I got down to Keyword research and competition research with it, it kept giving me either no results or bad results. I also found they have horrible tech support. Ugh.

So now I'm back to trying to find a good Keyword Research. Everyone USED to say Market Samurai but lately I'm hearing a lot of complaints plus they charge extra for rank checking!? Give me a break!

I tried MicroNicheFinder for awhile but it seemed kind of complex to use. I'll check keyword scout. So the age old question, once again, in my search for a good keyword analyzer, is "Which one is the best??"
