Question about backlinking on blogs.

I noticed after posting it will say "Must be approved by a moderator" What are the chances that they will actually accept the comment. The comment being posted is relevant to the topic, however I have been using my keyword as my name when posting in blogs. Is this going to be seen as spam?

Do you guys use keywords as the name? Or is this not necessary?

It really depends. If it is a really good comment then they might accept if even if you have anchor text as your name. The anchor text also matters, if your keyword is "buy generic viagra" the blog owner probably wont allow it...

The comments are always related to the blog post. However my keyword sounds generic and I'm not sure if they will see it as spam. Everyone else posts with their actual name. I'm just curious if names that are not a persons name are frowned upon by moderators.

Also, is varying keywords a good idea ?

As far as approval of comments. the moderator will approve the comment if he or she feels that you are really contributing something to the blog post. You comment should not be having the idea that has been already written in the blog post.
Would I be wasting my time if the moderators aren't approving them because of my name? Well compared to having a normal name. Most blogs for my niche require approval so it's very frustrating.

In most cases yes but it's easy to find out if a blog allows commentators to use a keyword as their name, you just have to see if there are other comments that use a keyword as a name, if others use keywords is pretty safe to comment with your keyword.

Many blogs use the keywordluv plugin which makes it possible to leave a comment and leave a name in the form YourName@Yourkeyword then when it's published your link will be hyperlinked!

I agree with this. Keywordluv is such a nifty plug-in, just comment with a hyperlink if others have done the same thing if not then forget about the keyword. Leave your name and link instead. For me a backlink is still a backlink even without the hyperlink.

Many blogs are human moderate... Moderators take care that no spammy comment will get approved.

Spammy comments have nothing to with usernames... If your comment is valuable and beneficial for the blogger, it will definitely get approved.

No problem we can use keywords in the name field. Really if you comment is relevant to post then the moderator will approve your comment other wise they neglect.

Blogger use commenting as a great tool for backlinks, and they put their own keywords too for getting higher ranking for given keyword.

Moderator don't like the keywords instead of Name, so try to use your complete name so that moderator can understand you are a authenticated visitor not a spammer.

Totally depends on moderator. Sometimes he or she could approve the comment (if it's good) but change your name by deleting the keyword or adding a nofollow tag to it.

Actually, no technical issues are involve most of the time when it comes to approving comments. It will all depend on the moderators if they want to approve comments or not. Whatever technique you use is useless if they're not in the good mood in approving comments.

So I suggest you to keep leaving comments, and leave it to the moderators if they will approve your comments or not.

Each human moderator is different but providing you add benefit and value, your giving yourself the best chance of approval.

It actually hurts your rankings if you always use the same keywords. It asks for your name, not for a keyword. I put my name and take care of other kinds of backlinks with my keywords. Its not ethical to put a keyword when asked a name. Anyhow, you do what you feel works for you and we'll do what works for us and everyone will be happy
