Hi
I want to make a 2 words domain ,let's say for example named AB.com
if it's taken
would it hurt if i repeat the keyword ABB.com or AAB.com
what about the dash, is it better to use AB.com or A-B.com

and what about domain extension (if i want to dominate a keyword in france for example) is it better to use .fr or .com domain or that doesn't affect the ranking

There is a lot of debate as to whether EMD (exact match domain) is valuable or not, consensus seems to be they used to be way more valuable and now they still have SOME value, IMO ....if you get the EXACT match

    start playing with the words

Blue kites...............bluekites.com net org etc is EMD

    start doing
    blueKitesX.com
    Mybluekites.com etc

IMO that dilutes the value of the EMD and makes it nonsense
but some will still say that putting the kws in the domain help SO much in rankings

i tend to disagree that anything other than an EMD exact.....................will help much

I have about 10 to 15 EMD.coms for my resort and some of them are top 2 for that kw
    so I keep those

I have heard Google favors local domain extensions but I am not 100% sure if that is the case

hyphens? I believe those are SUPPOSEDLy viewed by google as teh SAME as EMDsn
notice those disappear quickly from the available list

Choosing a right domain is a brainstorming session. However you should drop the idea of using hyphen or dash or any number in your domain. While you are searching a domain name, keep some alternatives from same niche.

If you want to target a specific country then choose country specific domain name. However, I would suggest you to choose .com domain since it is easy to remember.

Make your domain unique and easy to remember. Don't modify any existing domain by using hyphen or number. It will confuse the visitors to type and your traffic may divert to other website.

Targeting keyword in domains enhances makes your website discoverable easily. However, I would suggest you to create a brand-name as your domain name as it will create a distinct identity in the business.

    agreed about the hyphensi

    if BlueCars.com is taken
    you go buy blue-cars.com

bluecars.com might not be happy plus they wont remember your hyphen and they will just type in HIS website so he might get your traffic on typins

Just one advice, if you want to buy that domain for targeting keywords then drop the idea.

On the other hand, if that domain will help you in branding your website then go for it.

To cut the story short... Use your domain name for branding yourself not for keyword targeting. There are several other ways to target keywords.

If the EMD is already possessed for Belgium extension don’t worry it won’t affect your french rankings.

Dont repeat, it's pointless. Better add prefix or sufix, the less chars, the better.

    Dash is fine.
