Google's own ad color sheme

While tossing around that google does things for
a reason here the other day, it dawned on me that
maybe they had done a ton of testing on the ad scheme
they show for ads (top and bottom) that they put on
search results.

It took me while of playing with a color coder, but I
have gotten pretty close. I am going to test it on
one site.

The background was the one that was obviously the
hardest. Everybody probably knew the
title was 0000CC (dark blue or close)
url was 008000 (some form of green)
text 000000 (black)

Background I have found that's close: FFF8F0

Looks pretty dang similar. Only difference is they
put the url directly below the title.

Thought I would post this in case someone else wants
to give it a try. I always use white background websites.

Not sure if google has posted this info elsewhere, or even
if someone else has tried to duplicate it.

    If you want to nitpick, it is actually FFF8E7, but you are pretty close.

    At least when I did a screen capture and put it through GIMP's color picker, that is what it said.

      Got to be careful with that. Depends on your monitor. I got fff8e6 in photoshop in one of my monitors, an some white color in the other because it's color is so far off.

      Looks like Yukon hooked us with the code anyway. Good idea to test it. It's not like they're just randomly choosing stuff, so hopefully it will increase conversions for ya.

    Thanks Paul. May have to give this a try! I have always heard it's best to blend them in as well as possible, but never thought about how Google does it in the search results.

    I just checked the Ads in the SERPs, here is what I get:

    background = #fff8e7
    title = #0e1cb3
    url = #00802a
    description = #171717

    Maybe my colors are off on this PC?

      Kudos to the "real" code.

      Just plugged it in, and not much difference!
      (Actually a tad darker than mine)
      I know some colors are too close
      to differentiate. And monitors are
      not the same.

      I used 0000CC for title, as I like a brighter blue,
      the blue seems to be almost the same shade as well.

      It was the background that was getting me.

      Anyway, I have changed them to all be what Yukon
      posted, just so the test would be using google's colors.

    You can also test the color scheme on Clickbanks Ad builder If you are a CB member, for instant color tweaking results.
