Hey gang, getting back into IM. I have a Few questions. I'm considering dishing out the money for LTP, does anyone here have experience with it? Is it good?

I'm also considering buying Scrapebox. I understand it has a learning curve, which I'm okay with. However would it be better just to use Senuke Fiverr gigs instead?

Thanks

I'm not familiar with LTP but scrapebox is a very nice tool for the price, you can find it with a discount for $47 on time price. As for the Senuke fiverr gigs, I havent used any myself yet but I've heard good things.

Where could I find the $47 discount? I did some searching on Google and all I got was a black hat site :/

Buy scrapebox and spend the time to learn to use it. Best IM product ever IMO.

Keyword research can be done very effectively manually if you know what you're doing. The last thing I would buy is a keyword research tool.

I have been using Long Tail Pro since it was released and it is by far the best keyword research tool imo. It is twice as fast as Market Samurai, regularly updated and has great support. It also focuses on keyword research without all the crap that just gets in the way. It is well worth the investment.

As far as Scrapebox, I have owned my copy for a long time now and never even use it anymore. Every once in a great while I fire it up to run some comments off to a large list of backlinks, but I just don't find it worth the effort. If you are only looking at Scrapebox for backlinks to your money sites, I would recommend choosing something else.

Go get yourself a copy of Seo Link Robot, or order some backlinking services instead.

Using scrapebox to comment is the absolute worth and most ineffective use of the tool. If you take the time to learn use it, the possibilities are endless. It's an incredible tool. And for $57 it's the best investment you can make.

But there is certainly a learning curve, no doubt.

        Hi packerfan,

Could you name some? I have now got scrapebox and find the comment posting is very good (i fire it against article layer, rather then direct to my site).

Could you list what you see as its other great areas? My concern is that since yahoo site explorer went offline scrapebox has lost out on some of its heavyweight functions such as compiling no follow lists and competitive analysis?

Oh, I am very familiar with how to use Scrapebox. I have hundreds if not thousands of hours of use behind it. In fact, at one point in time it was all I ever used for everything under the sun, I use to train it to work with a bunch of web properties not just blog commenting, etc.

But the OP was questioning whether or not to buy scrapebox or use a fiverr gig, which leads me to believe that he wants the program for link building, in which case, he is better off using something else, in my opinion.

I'm currently using Market Samurai however I'm definately going to be buying long tail pro next month to continue my keyword research. The main reason is because MS is very very slow! I've seen a lot of videos on youtube and review sites and the speed of LTP is so much better. Funny thing is, even as I'm typing this, I have MS minimized in the background - I'm waiting for it to analyze keywords

Yes, my primary usage for Scrapebox was going to be for backlink building. I checked out SEO Link Robot and it's ~$50 a month. I'm just starting out on MFA sites, so I'm not sure I want to spend that yet.

In the end, what you use is really up to you. I find very little value in blog comment spamming these days, so if your plan was to use Scrapebox for that purpose then I personally would look at something else.

However, Scrapebox can still be used to find sites to build links on, you can scrape for high pr pages, or article sites or web 2.0 sites, anything you want really. But those links will have to be created manually, which is time consuming. But, it is great for that kind of stuff and that is an excellent way to find and build links.

Just keep in mind that you are going to have to have some private proxies, or buy a program like proxy goblin, if you plan on doing a lot of scraping. Which is additional money that has to be spent. I personally have had a very poor success rate with the inbuilt proxy scraper proxies in the program and most everyone will tell you to go with private proxies, although proxy goblin works well.

Have you looked into a program like Sick Submitter, I think it is $20/month and can do all kinds of backlinks, its a decent program but again has a learning curve. There is also Article Marketing Robot which works great, I am loving the latest update.

Again, its up to you. Scrapebox is a great program overall, so I am not trying to turn you off to it, just offering realistic things to think about here.

I looked into AMR and it looks pretty promising. As of now AMR looks to be my best choice. If I understand correctly I only need to pay for an anti-captcha service correct?

Yeah, with AMR the only additional fees associated outside of purchasing the program are captcha fees, which are really pretty cheap. The latest version now works with private proxies I believe, but I have never used proxies with this program and it has never been an issue.

You can also schedule your distributions, so you could que up articles under multiple different accounts with links to however many sites you want and just drip them out at a rate of a hundred a day or whatever you want.

Also, in the latest version, it has a cool new feature that allows you to search google for footprints of article directories, copy the google result source code and then the program extracts all of the links and runs them through the filter check, adding any good ones to your list of directories. It really is pretty neat.

The owner has a youtube channel that has videos of how to use it and some of the functions of the program, I will see if I can find that again and post the link here.

      * here is that link to the youtube videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/ArticleRobot and that is the owner of AMR making the videos.

Thanks for the helpful answers! I'll be purchasing LTP, AMR, and Clickbump sometime soon. Between AMR and about 10 PR6+ backlinks I should have no trouble getting #1 for low-competition niches, would you agree with that assessment?

Tough to say really as it greatly depends on the competition, but if they are in fact low competition than yes, you can pretty easily rank them with a combination of links like that. Assuming your on page seo is up to par, etc.

The guy who owns Long Tail Pro, Spencer, is a really nice guy and runs a network of adsense sites that makes something like $12k to $15k per month. He runs a blog that basically goes over all of his journey with micro niche sites and offers some good information over there. Since you are getting into the same boat, you might want to check it out NichePursuits.com.

Also, do a "site" search for article marketing robot, like in google and there is a link or two that has like a $10 discount for AMR. I think that is what I used when I bought it.

Thanks for all the help! I hear people talking a bit about getting Adsense accounts banned. But I assume if you have nice looking sites with a respectable amount of content you're safe? Seeing as Spencer has quite the empire. lol

My adsense account has been making me money since 2008. I build "quality" sites for the most part. Good content, which I write myself mostly and I always try to add some sort of value for the site visitors.

Even if you have a site about blenders or something, you can still add value. You can review blenders, you could contact one of the blender companies and interview them about their products, you could provide amazon products so that people can read up on the top blenders and then buy them on the same page. There is always a way to add value.

"Most" of the cases where I have seen someone complaining about their adsense account being closed, further investigation showed that they were not complying with the Adsense TOS is one way or another. Everyone likes to pretend to be innocent but that doesn't necessarily mean that they are. It's kind of like prison, everyone in there is innocent if you ask them lol.

Now there are probably a few cases where someone truly was innocent and should not have had their adsense account closed, but in those cases, I have found that a simple email to google can resolve the issue.

But, overall, good looking sites with quality information that provides value to your site visitors will be safe. Those are the rules that I play by and they have worked thus far for me, who knows what may happen tomorrow.

Thanks for all the fast responses I have another question, has anybody noticed any negative effects of using .info domains? I don't mean from a SEO perspective, I mean from the negative image that .info domains are known for.

I haven't seen any negative effects of using .info's over other tld's. They rank just the same and people click on them in the search results as long as your title and descriptions are compelling enough to get them to click.

The only real issue that people run into with .info domains is branding because they are not as memorable, but with the type of sites you are looking to build branding isn't really important anyway. I have also used .biz with good success, in fact, one of my .biz domains started bringing in money and ranking for its term in a week or two after buying it.

Another question. I registered an EMD with Namecheap and bought hosting with hostgator. When I visit my domain with a different computer or webproxy I get the correct wordpress site, however when viewing it with my main computer I still get the default Namecheap landing page. I cleared my cache and flushed my dns. What do I do?
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[5437364].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author patrich
Yeah that happens to me sometimes, it is most likely because your browser cache is not refreshing as it is supposed to. Try going to Tools > Internet Options > Temporary Files and then click Delete Temporary Files in IE. Or for Firefox try Tools > Options > Privacy > Cache and select Clear.

Also try Control + Shift + R in Firefox or Control + Refresh in IE and those should eliminate the problem.

I find it great - but only when it works!

I've lost count of the number of times I've uninstalled/installed LTP (Platinum version), I just gave up in the end. Either the KC wouldn't pull the data (despite changing the API credentials), or it couldn't get data from Google itself.

Unfortunately the support, although it was timely, didn't have much to say on the matter.

Shame really, as the standalone SW works as advertised. Don't think I'll subscribe to the Platinum version anytime soon.

    Hey,
Maybe this post goes a little late but I've found this thread searching for LTP alternatives.
I have bought LTP some weeks ago and in my opinion it's ok for $47 (theres is a BHW discount) but it could be way much better.
If you, like myself, don't go for the platinum, you have to pay a monthly fee. You can't save favorite keywords, you can only check one keyword competition at a time , the keyword generation is just a pure Google Keyword Planner mirror... so I don't really see the point of getting this tool, when you can instead use Traffic Travis which as a good keyword competition analysis and you can check 5 keywords at a time using a free account . So Why I bought it ? I thought that you could check several keywords at a time , it runs on mac (as it's a pain to use parallels and get the pc slow because of the memory usage every time you want to run traffic travis) . I still continue to use it, but I don't understand why people love it so much when it doesn't really adds much . Anybody as different opinion ? or an alternative to LTP ? Thanks
