My keyword completely disappeared from google

My keyword was ranked in 209th position on google, decreased to 239th position and now disappeared, not in top 1,000. Other keywords are fluctuating and have been doing so since 24th December.

I am continually building back links to site. Has anyone experienced this before and what was the final outcome?

Depends on fresh your site is - it is common to bounce around for new sites.
If the domain/site is not liked by Google it can stay quite high up then fall off the charts.

I would look to get some good back links and monitor it this way. Where are you getting your back links from now?

Honestly, going from 200+ to outside of the top 1000 isn't really a loss. Nobody knew the site existed anyhow.

I'd keep working and not worry about it too much.

  • This is rather common with new sites. Just keep building links and it should return.

As long as your site is still indexed, you don't have to worry.

For your traffic I guess it doesn't matter whether you are in position 239 or 239000. These ranking fluctuations happen all the time, even for keywords you are not tracking (longer-tail keywords and stuff like that), so don't worry about it so meticulously.

Why are you worrying for this lost, if you are still even on 1000+ then you are not banned. Be careful and do not copy content from another site and also create quality backlinks.

Firstly I would like to ask that how old is your website..Because if its new , than Google may have placed it in the sandbox. You must continue building your links and after some time, you surely see the advantage.
