Does quantity of articles matter?

This may be a really basic question but I just wanted to know what my fellow warriors thought about this:

Does the quantity of articles matter?

for example if I am making $2 a month with 10 articles is it fair to say that I will make $4 a month with 20 articles? ...$1000 with 5000 articles?

What do you think and have you experienced the increase in income with the increase in the article count?

thanks

The answer is yes. The more articles that you have that drive traffic the more money that you will make. Will it be the numbers that you have, only time will tell.

There our a lot of variables that go into the whole thing. Yet one thing is always true, your content has to be great, and give the reader what they are looking for.

    I hope that this helps.

The answer is no. Just because you double the number of articles on your site does not mean you are going to double your income. As mentioned, though, quality content is what matters.

You're right with that, but be sure you are producing quality contents as well in order to gain more viewers to your site.

Are you making the money from customers purchasing directly from the articles?

    If so, yes.

If you are using the articles for traffic generation or search engine rankings and then making the sales on your site then no. It is much more about quality and marketing than volume.

If the content you have is already making you money; keep on adding more of that content to your site and your profits should increase too. But don't sacrifice the quality of the content just for the quantity!

Right, well in that case it depends more on how good your SEO campaign is, not the quantity of articles you submit.

You could write 20 articles which only get 10 visitors each per month, OR you could write one article and rank it more keywords which attract more traffic and get you 1000 visitors per month.

Obviously in this scenario the one high traffic article will gain more traffic.

What traffic generation strategies are you using currently? Are you doing any SEO?

Focus on creating high quality articles for your money sites and building the depth of your index without loading your site up with "fluff". (Unless it's a Microsite!)

Additionally, take into consideration the amount of content and the average number of pages indexed by your competitors.

Content is an area that you want to meet and exceed both the quality and quantity of your competitors over time. Does this have any correlation to your ability to monetize? Absolutely not.

Doubling the amount of articles you're posting will not necessarily equate to doubling your revenue. Also, there is a cost in dollars or time for content development so you may actually be operating at a loss and not even realize it in the event you decide to scale.

While your website might be theoretically appreciating in value over time, you should also focus on building links, ranking competitively for targeted terms, and continuing to deliver value to your audience.

Content will forever remain King. As long as that holds true, links are Queen when it comes to ranking. Why over-complicate things? A combination of both is what you need to win.

I guess you have a point of having a great quantity of articles because you were making money with it. One thing I want to say is don't forget the quality of your articles because readers will leave directly when they don't like your article.

Unique and original contents will pay off at the end and if you publish quality contents on your own website or submit materials to directories, in order to build traffic for your website and then use PPC and other similar ad publishing programs to earn money, the boosted traffic will ultimately help you achieving your financial goals. Some very big websites are doing very well in terms of generating cash through CPC and CPA projects because thousands of readers visit them.

There are so many blogs and discussion forums which contain informative contents and their admins might not even do anything specific to optimize or promote them except adding fresh contents to them, covering hot and important subjects. The same published materials will then get found by people who access the net through using search engines and their organic traffic shares will improve. Addition of contents and fresh articles to websites has been already successfully proved to be great.

If you are building an authority site with lots of quality articles, then you will eventually know exactly what to expect $$ wise for each article. I like to shoot for $2-$10/article on a mature site. That way, I know that 100 additional articles is likely to bring an additional $200-$1,000/month. That's exactly the method we use to grow our authority sites and it's working very well for us, especially post-Panda. It's also much easier to build a few quality sites than to manage updates and ads for 1,000 sites (I've tried both approaches - domain renewal time is a killer too!).

For me, the number of articles matters. But I also believe that no matter ho many articles you have, as long as they are in good quality, it can help your site a lot to have a decent rank.

Not always. Quality always comes first than quantity, since users would always look for catchy articles. If they enjoy what you put up, then they would look forward for updates. Although having loads of articles would probably bring in more traffic, it may still be a turn off if they perceive the articles as something not worth to be wasting time with.

Before you create 100+ new articles you should do keyword research to indetify only those keywords with potencial to not only generating traffic from SERPs but also to convert into clicks or sales.
The quantity is important only if you can delivery quality content for good keywords.

Provided that the quality of the additional articles is on point, you will see an increase in income with more articles on your site.
