I suggest that you need more effort to build high quality backlinks to your forex site. Google doesn't hate forex, just keep going till your traffic soars high.

I have 10 or so sites, completely unrelated to this site, getting a lot of irrelevant traffic that skews my numbers! There probably isn't a way to stop it, is there?

Honestly, stop looking at your traffic. What you need to look at is your rankings for your selected keywords in Google.

The more keywords you get ranked in the top 3 of Google the more traffic you will get. It is of course up to you to convert them, but its all a numbers game.

So, like I said, stop looking at your traffic and wonder what is going on; instead, focus on your keyword rankings. Try not to go after the really tough ones with tons of searches, go after the lower volume phrases, these are the ones that most people ignore, and thus are easier to rank for. Then, just get a lot of them; you will see a ton of traffic start to come in when you do this.

IMO there should be no harm receiving free traffic from any site unless you intentionally link back to them.

Don't sweat it. If it isn't trusted by Google just don't link back to them. LOL!
