Why Posting on Yahoo Answers is Better Than Commenting on Blogs

I just found out after a ton of Yahoo Answers posting that it can really help your site. I get over 50% best answers and currently have 41 total answers and 23 of which are best answers.

I have found out that out of the 36 people that have gone to my site in the last 20 days through Yahoo Answers, the average pages visited is 4.86 and the average time on my site is about 6 minutes. This is significantly more than most of my other sources of traffic.

From Google out of the 63 people that have gone to my site in the last 20 days, the average amount of pages visited is 3.11 and the average time on my site is about 3 and a half minutes.

This shows that although you can get much more traffic from search engines, answering well thought out answers on Yahoo Answers drives better traffic to your site.

Please reply if you have a question and instead of thanking me through a reply, I would rather you thank this post. (I like to keep my threads clear of thank you's)

Yahoo Answers is a brilliant source of traffic which many people don't bother with because it takes quite a bit of work.

However, it is free and generates highly targeted and motivated traffic so long as you stay within Yahoo's rules and don't get your account closed (which only happens if you don't follow their rules).

In my opinion, it's much better than blog commenting because you get link juice, a search engine ranking (if you get the best answer) plus traffic. However, a good comment on a high traffic blog can get you some decent traffic but often you are competing with hundreds of other commentators so it's hard to stand out and get the click.

    All the best

    Jason

I see what you mean Jason Johns. It is hard to get your link seen but that is why I take even more time to provide a good answer for users. That makes my link first up!

I think that the time taken to answer the question is well worth it.

Also, I have had my account closed a few times and some of them were already on Level 2 so it was very frustrating. But now I know not to answer with one-liners and to never doubt the questioner.

Right now, my account has 450 points, is on Level 2, and has 550 points to go in order to get to Level 3. I find it easy to get tons of points when you get a lot of Best Answers.
