Is it worth it to index our backlinks?

I spent more than a year indexing all of my article directory articles and free blogs (I don't work with link profiles).

To do this, I've used Backlinks Indexer (my favorite), Nuclear Link Indexer and Backlink Booster.

However, I stopped indexing those articles two months ago and I have not noticed any changes since I stopped. Do you think that it's worth it to index all articles?

Listen. You may create thousands of backlinks. But google may not index any of those. Yes I know google always indexing links after links. But its always better to help google to index your link. But don't make too may backlink at once and index them, that might hurt google and you may lose your rankings.

Yes it definitely is. If your links aren't indexed, then they don't count. Personally I just use BMR to build links to my site and these have an index rate of about 99%.

Why not? Even if according to your findings they aren't helping you in ranking better, they can get organic traffic and perhaps people will follow your links in the article and reach your website.

That depends on how much you pay for the indexing versus just making more articles. If you got good backlinks on high pr PAGES (not sites) you definitely should make sure they get indexed.

I never want to index backlinks unless a service does it (like BMR). I don't think it's natural to have to ping all your backlinks on purpose. It's better to keep it natural and allow the spider to crawl your backlinks over time on it's own.

Backlink indexing is not purely pinging though. Backlink indexing is building links to the backlinks (like a linkpyramid) so that Google thinks the page with your link is important enough to be in the index in the first place.

Yeah, that's true. I do that for my backlinks. Like I send out mass UAW articles to web 2.0 properties and Ezine artices.

I always think of indexing fast and just pinging.

I have used those services, especially BacklinksIndexer.com and I can tell it's waste of time and money. I have stop using them in about 6 month time. I have found a better way of indexing links fast. There are plenty of ways to do that for the less amount of cash and more effective.
So to answer your question, yes it is important to index your backlinks but those tools are not the best way of achieving good results.

Are you pinging your backlinks? That will tell google to crawl that link and you will get indexed faster!

I always indexed my backlinks. But I do in a strategic way in that I ping only a selection of them, so for example if I build 50 back links I will only ping 10 of them per day for 5 days.

but as a whole should always try and get your backlinks indexed as it easy from Google and the other search engines to miss them!

Indexing the backlinks definitely helps, as Google cannot count links it doesn't see. Perhaps you haven't noticed any significant changes because your links are all nofollow?

Absolutely. Theyre not getting counted if they're not in G's index.

Indexed backlinks are much better then unindexed backlinks. Try to index backlinks. Also as Julia said you may be using nofollow backlinks so you are not watching any remarkable improvement. However there can be plenty of different reasons. May be competition is high, May be your backlinks are from low quality pages and so on..

Why would you not want to index your links? It's time, money and effort you spent on acquiring those links going down the drain if google doesn't find them. The more links you have indexed, the less links you need to build, no?

I've been testing out a service and have noticed an increase in rankings so I do believe that taking that extra step to help increase more of your web properties and backlinks does help in the short... and long term.

backlinksindexer.com is also my favorite. I like that it is a backlink tier builder and not just some pinging service. I can tell a significant difference in my rank since indexing my links. Maybe coincidence but I'm not willing to stop now and test that theory

Indexing backlinks is important because sometimes there is no other way for Google to know where your backlinks are. Google do not know everything about internet, and not every webpage is indexed by Google. There is no need to have backlink if Google do not know about it.

A very popular service - mainly users PAY handsomely for a bit of convenience - however; for users that need to process and index larger volumes of links in big blasts - its not all that economical.

Additionally - these services dont build out any properties that are YOURS.

There are alternative 1x fee software apps that use the near identical concepts of BLinderxer.com [ since they - BLindexer ] borrowed the idea from others ] for far less per month - and that allow you to build up a network of YOUR OWN sites that once they age and gain some of their own PR can be used for other beneficial SEO activities.

You cant get that from the "services" - typically.

Yes setting it up on your own is more painful up front - couple dayss - but the extra work pays longer term benefits.

Yes, links need boost so that G will find them. Unindexed links are useless. It is commonly said, the more indexed links you have, the less backlinks you have to build.

And it is more than just pinging - as i think it has lost its magic sometime ago already. You have to build links to your backlinks - and i think this is a good way to go.

I use Backlinks Energizer and it is really great and best of all, no monthly fees. :-)

Of course, it's crucial. Even if you have thousand of backlink but they are not cached by Google it won't give the benefits you are expecting.

Have you tried using an indexing service provider? Something like BacklinksIndexer.com might be worth your time. It's gotten a lot of praise on this forum. I just started myself so I'll have to report back on how it does.
