OK, Im a newb as far as PPC is concerned.

If you genuinely find a keyword with no competition as to PPC can your bid be around $0.05 and still show? E.g. I have scouted several keywords for a while, and no PPC competition throughout the day, and organic sites aren't overly targeted with keywords in title etc, also the Google adwords tool shows cost per click of $0.00.

I am in the process of ranking for these terms of course through SEO, however would like to dominate with PPC too if possible.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Theoretically yes, but keep in mind if the traffic has no competition it is probably of little use regarding monetization.

The most valuable keywords have high bids because those are the most valuable visitors.

Focus on generating more revenue and getting better conversion rates than your competition and you can own PPC.

Don't focus on finding where the traffic isn't. You'll always be running from the competition. Just do better than the competition and you won't have anything to worry about.

@thetrafficguy couldn't have said it any better.

PPC is about maximizing your conversions. If you can get visitors to your site at 5 cents a click, you still need to make them worth MORE than 5 cents each once they get there.

However, even if you have to pay $2 per click, if you can make that visitor worth $3, your gunna be able to profit.

    Example from personal experience:

I had a website that was converting visitors on an affiliate offer, and each visitor ended up being worth about 50 cents to me. I was ranked 5th for a 5,000 per month keyword which is how I was able to calculate each visitors value.

Then I decided to check on Google. Low and behold, I could bid just 30 cents for a top spot for this keyword. I did that, and begin making profit on every click I purchased.
