First, I know there are other threads related to this topic but...

What adsense optimized themes do you guys like the best that doesn't like weak, cheesy, etc. For example, I am used to themes that compare to many found on Theme Forest.

I have looked over a few adsense themes mentioned here but they look like websites from the 90s, not 2012. Let me know. Thanks Warriors

Can you show a theme on Theme Forest that you are used to?

Most Adsense sites are simple looking by design because that's what gets higher CTRs.

I downloaded CTR the other day to check it out - did not like it at all. If google truly is concerned about testing quantity of ads above the fold, CTR sites are gonna get killed.

In the end it is pretty basic - there are only so many positions on a site that convert. Pick one, try to eliminate distractions and then drive traffic.

You can still run CtrTheme, you just have to tone it down with the Ads & two large images above the content (above the fold).

One Ad above the fold (top/center) gets most of the clicks on my sites. Just saying...

How do you do that? I didn't see anywhere I could affect the ad placements aside from just not entering in my adsense code for a given unit.

      Hi,

I use the CTR theme. I only enable some ad blocks, so as not to have too many. I have five sites. Three of them are on page 1 of google, with two of those three at position 1. The other two sites are ranking at the bottom of page 2.

My ctr is around 3.5%. Not making much, a total of a little over $100 for the month of January.

I want to add more sites, but I am concerned that always using one theme is a bad idea.

Any suggestions for other Adsense templates that have worked, paid or free? Like Idiaz117, I am concerned about templates that spammy, like prosense or bluesense.

      Thank you for any suggestions.

After a lot of messing around with adsense I have come to the assumption that a lot of these built for adsense themes are not usually the best themes for high CTR anyway. - I figure if people can't make money with adsense then they build WP themes

What I like to do is find a theme I like and manually hard-code the adsense codes into the theme or even just the individual pages where I believe I will get the highest CTR for that page. This tends to give me a higher CTR.

As stated by above poster, a simple theme usually works a lot better than a detailed and graphically over-pleasing theme. It's often more about the writing style too, you want to give the visitor enough info to be intrigued but not quite enough that they are satisfied.

You also want people to stay on the page for a little while or explore and share your site so that you will last well in the SEs

It's like 90% your keyword choice and 10% what theme you use.

Adsense themes are just an easy way to market a **** theme. Nothing more to it.
