New website not ranking

Hi,

I have a 3 week old site (I know it's still super new) and I haven't stared any serious backlinking yet, just some social bookmarking.

I have about 30 posts on it now and 90% of them are indexed in Google.

However, even though they are indexed, they are nowhere to be found in the Google's rankings (nowhere in the 1st 100 pages).

Has anyone ever experienced this.

I'm sort of freaking out but I'm probably just paranoid. Is it because my site is still super new? should I just wait it out?

Thanks

I agree with mikest4u...you should give it some more time...once you are at around 50 quality posts or so, you can try to open your blog up for some guest bloggers...it might be a little challenging since your site is new; however, if you provide dynamic content and your site presents well, then you might attract a good pr blogger to write a post or two to help bump your site up...hope this helps.

Like you mentioned, you haven't started any serious link building yet.

To be honest, it doesn't matter how much time has gone by, you can rank your site pretty quickly. It all just depends on what you are doing SEO wise onsite and off site.

If you have a good site structure, with proper inner page linking, then you should have been ranking already for your targeted keywords.

Most people forget about doing proper on page and on site SEO, and just concentrate off site, this is a big mistake. So, if this is something that you might have done, I would advise you to clean up your site with a proper structure.

Absolutely! SEO is a marathon, not a sprint. Just keep working on it and give it some time.

  • This is normal. You must have good on page optimization and strong, quality backlinks for your site to start achieving high rankings in Google.

Generally if your site ranks high after a few weeks it will not stay there. It will get bumped down it happens all the time. Just be patient and consistent and after a few weeks you should see some change when things have settled down then you can see what is working and what is not.

Depends on how specific the post titles are too, and the competition for what you're expecting them to rank for after only 3 weeks....

I would advise you to try querying google with a long tail phrase that matches one of your article titles or a part of the article itself. Try with semicolons. However as anyone said it is a little too early for ranking on first 5 pages or so for competitive terms.

I'm not talking about ranking I the first 5 pages. I'm nowhere to be found even in the first 100 pages.

As Others have recommended you, I would say try to concentrate on building quality backlinks for your website. Just don't keep your link building with social bookmarking, instead try to apply other useful off page strategies. It's also necessary to check your on page optimization. So keep patience and work hard. Result would come accordingly!

I have a 6-month old website. I experienced the same thing you are currently going through. After time, if you do backlinking right, everything will work out. It's not worth worrying about for at least two months. I would say don't worry and just focus on doing SEO properly in the meantime.

    Hi,
Google rank's the websites twice in a year approximately. When google rank's the website, it checks all quality back links and popularity of the website on that date. That dates will not reveal by google. But Approximately twice in a year your website will be ranked, if you have good quality back links in that time.
So be patient for getting ranking.

Pretty much everything in this post is false.

Google changes their algorithm approximately once per day and as they find new backlinks and content they are constantly changing where sites are ranking.

I would continue to build content and start building links. If you are aggressive enough you can get sites to start ranking within 2-3 days of building them. More realistically (especially if you are a little more conservative with your linkbuilding) I'd wait a month after you start building links before getting worried.

Brilliant, top WSO material right there!

Seriously, just build links, then more links.
Use different types of links (comments, articles, web2.0s, wikis, forums, satalite blogs, paid networks etc) and stop worrying about rankings for a while
