Hey everyone, so here's my situation:

One of my kw was toggling pages 1-2 for the past 5 months. It got hit recently with the latest algorithm. Now my site is no where to be found on Google. However, if I were to type the url on Google search, it shows meaning that it's still indexed (?).

Therefore I just want to clarify, was this a sandbox or just Google re-indexing? And now that I've changed the site around to fix the problem; is the page just dancing around? I know the latest algorithm said that it will take weeks to re-index the ones that were flagged...so yeah.

Thanks all.

I would say that if you just did some major changes to the page, then it is a re-index issue. But then again, without knowing what was on your page BEFORE the changes it's hard to say if you got a legitimate penalty. Also, G is going it's 4x a year PR update right now, so there will be some dancing.

My thing is, if I can type the URL in Google (and even on a diff computer) and it shows, that means it's not sandboxed since it's indexed right? Or that doesn't matter ? I know I got a penalty, but I don't know if it was sandboxed.

Yes, it is still indexed. I think you just lost rank due to the major changes you made, some penalty, and also this week is a PR update, so things are off kilter a bit.

I would suggest just keep building links to it consistently and in a couple of weeks the site will just pop right back up.

It's probably a google sandbox OR an algorithm shift. Google makes minor changes everyday, but they make major changes a handful of times a year. They are making a semi-big change right now, and you could have been hit.

It's not the biggest deal in the world because google is a fickle mutha #%#@!!
