Has anyone got into copyright trouble with the domain name that they registered for their adsense websites, I bought some from a provider and now I am thinking twice about it. Everyone says something different so I was just wondering personally if anyone had trouble

does your domain include brand name? Well if your luck you might not get in trouble. But I always stay away from branded domains.

No personal experience and I have a domain with ipad in it.

From what I understand in most cases you get a nice letter before anything serious. Then you decide to comply or fight. Most will probably comply.

If you're doing harm to the brand on the site, things might be different.

That's just from what I've read though. I have a couple other brand domains that I have and have had no issues. But I don't try to find them.

if your domain has trademark or brand naming and you're infringing than there are two possibilities:

    1. if there is a watchdog group, i.e. law firm, you may be contacted with a cease and desist letter. again, if you're infringing than they'll threaten a lawsuit to get you to remove the site and give up the domain name.

    2. you get contacted by WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center because someone has filed a domain dispute (by most likely a law firm representing the brand or trademark name). the dispute goes before an arbitrator or panel if you want to pony up $2000. if you lose the dispute WIPO has your registrar transfer the domain to the rightful owner.

there could be additional possibilities but i'm familiar with these two. it boils down to the watchdog and if they find your domain and decide its infringing. you may go years without a watchdog finding it or could happen right away. Depends on the trademark or brand and how much they watch the internet for infringement.

Google uses its Internet search technology to serve advertisements based on website content, the user's geographical location, and other factors. Those wanting to advertise with Google's targeted advertisement system may enroll through Google AdWords. AdSense has become a popular company in creating and placing banner advertisements on a website, because the advertisements are less intrusive than most banners, and the content of the advertisements is often relevant to the website.

I have a brand name in one of my sites but i have not yet being contacted by anyone. I suppose it is a risk just do not put all your eggs in that one basket. Run a couple of normal websites as well as the branded one then if you get told otherwise you have something to fall back on.
