I just started a new site a couple weeks ago. It's a niche site on word press for a medium competition set of keywords.

I've so far got about 20 posts up.

when should I add adsense to the page? Adsense will be my only way to make money on this page (for now at least).

The site is indexed, I'm posting 1-5 new posts (500 words, well written) per day right now. I'm ranking on page 2 of google for a couple of my VERY low competition keywords.

It makes no difference if you add AdSense right away or wait a while. As new sites typically don't make any money for a while, I usually wait a bit since I do a lot of site editing and page refreshes but if I create an autoblog or something, I put the ads up on day 1. There's nothing to be gained by waiting..

If the site has been up for 3 weeks or so, you should be good to go. I try to wait a few weeks at least to get indexed and let Google see that I'm posting relevant new information a few times a week. I would slow up on posting the content everyday and maybe do 3 post per week.

You don't want Google to think you are just another Adsense junkie trying to throw a site up, flood it with content and put Adsense on it right away. That's why you should post about 3 per week and then after 3-4 weeks when your posts are indexed go ahead and put some adsense on there.

Just a few thoughts on how I do it and it seems to be working...

    Good Luck!

I highly doubt you would be banned from the adsense program if you used code right away.

First of all, Google is a lot less likely to inspect adsense publishers that don't accumulate much advertising fees. They really only focus attention on you after you start earning some money.

Secondly, it would be irrational for Google to penalize a new blog for lack of content. In order for you to get in trouble for "thin content," you would have to continue to have less content for an extended period of time.

That being said, there is really little to earn without much traffic at the beginning. I'm too easily distracted by adsense statistics, even if they are small and meaningless. So I would add the code a little later.

But if you're not easily distracted, then you can add it as soon as you wish. It has nothing to do with being banned, but everything to do with what you're comfortable with.

Thanks for the tips! i'll put the ads up tomorrow.

I've got a few other sites with ads on them but those were not new when I put ads up. This is the first one I've done like this so wanted to double check.

    Thanks again1
