What's Your Biggest Barrier to Success?

Hey everyone

I thought it would be insightful to everyone if we all shared our thoughts on some of the barriers that we face that limit our potential success. Keep in mind that these barriers can be self imposed or from external factors.

I'll start it off...

I would say that one of the biggest barriers to my maximum potential success is lack of focus on certain projects due to the amount of new projects that I start.

I'm happy with the success I've had so far in my primary career and the recent success I've had online, however if I focused more heavily on developing current projects into maturity and spent less time starting new projects I'm sure my overall financial success would increase.

Ok.....I could probably list a whole bunch here...but I'll stop at this.

What's one of your barriers to success??

Cheers

Phil

Good point...it's definitely a love/hate relationship (maybe hate is too strong of a word)

Without a doubt it's starting too many projects. Ideas just start flowing and I feel obligated to act on them. Then I end up with 10 projects going at once and they all take way longer to complete than necessary.

Oh, and my full time job gets in the way, too.

        Nothing to see here

I'm glad I'm not the only one!

My barrier is also losing focus on my projects, but mainly because of yahoo news, facebook, tv, battlefield, rocksmith, google search, and the warrior forum.

    • Yea I must admit I struggle to focus from time to time. I found setting a to do list each day really helps.
I also continually ask myself if I am working with 4 figure a day work ethic.
If I'm not, that usually snaps me out of whatever I'm doing and gets me back to work

        Great insight!

It's VERY easy (youtube is my vice) to get off track....getting back on track is key!

        Thanks

Having a full time job, plus trying to start these kind of projects on the side is extremley hard to cope up with. I think the key is to take one project on at a time. Like packerfan said, you get excited and start way to many projects at once.

The biggest barrier is competition, and it's getting worse every day.

Sites and pages on sites are growing faster than ad revenue.

I totally agree. I wish I would have been in the game 10 years ago...however I probably would have had to code everything from scratch and not had awesome tools like wordpress (I wonder how old wordpress is??).

My barrier is trying to make sure that I dedicate enough time to my projects. I still have a full time job and I am a single mom. So between going to work, housework, and time with the little one, it is hard to make sure that I put enough time behind my efforts.

Working at this game on a part-time basis is definitely tough...especially for a single parent!

Keep up the hard work and you'll kill it for sure!

My biggest barrier I think is becoming frustrated, I easily become frustrated if things dony go my way.
Though I dont give up but it somewhat effects my efficiency.

Hmmm...interesting. I don't tend to get frustrated very easily. Can you give us an example of something that gets you frustrated?
