Hi Friends,

I join this forum to clear my doubts and have lots of question which comes to my mind...

Now I just want to know that how many back links I can make for a single website per day from Directories, Articles, BM's, Blogs & Forums etc.? What is the minimum limit or there is no limit to build back links? Will Google ban websites that make too many links a day? How can I make quality back links using only white hat techniques by which my website will always be in safe mode

it depends on your DOMAIN AGE. If new age domain, then don't too many build backlink. Usually 20-50 backlinks.

For aged domain, you can do as many as you can.

I agree with this however.... If you are not building backlinks that are "relevant" to your site topic, you are just wasting your time and money. Stay on Topic!

As old is a domain as many backlinks you can create.
I strongly believe 6 years are enough to create unlimited amount of backlinks every day.
Now for the new one, 4 quality backlinks are enough to attract the visibility of the audience.

This is something I have tested personally, just because I was curious enough.

1 bought a new domain and a 5 year old domain, put a 10 page unique blog on both and blasted both of them equally in counts of number (via Xrumer, AMR and Scrapebox)

The new one was deindexed in 3 weeks and the old one saw a rank jump just about a little.

So conclusion was not to blast or build links fast to new domains as everyone says!

I am putting together a new website and was wondering this very same thing. From what I can tell, googles algorithm will deindex you if you get 10,000 backlinks in one week and 10 backlinks the next week. But what if you get 10,000 backlinks every week? Most of the people that do this don't have problems getting sandboxed.

I have lots of experience in linkbuilding.. What can i say to you is that depends on some factors.

    1. Google Pagerank of targeted website, domain age.
    2. I use different kinds of backlinks . Not only 1000 profile forums. I do them like this : 50 forum profiles, 10 high pagerank , 30 edu and gov, 100 pligg links, 100 directories...per week or month depends on the website.

Put them mixed up cause google will never know that you are building unnatural links.

    Hope it helps

  • There is no limit, but what I will add is you want it to look as natural as possible.
If you get 8,000 links one day and then none for a week, and then 4,000 again on another day, it will set off some red flags for Google.

I focus on only high PR links, and I find getting just 1 or 2 of these per day is more than enough. It also keeps my link building time down to a minimum.

There is no limit for backlinks, try to add quality and relevant backlinks for your site. Getting links from sites which are irrelevant to your site's niche may look like spam.

My personal SEO strategy is to maintain an average of 500-1,000 links a week

I wait until my website is at least one month old to do this though

During the first month I usually send about 100-200 a week

There are a lot of case studies on blackhat forums of this working extremely well.

Do some research I'm sure you'll find them~!

Its not about the number of links which matter the most..You must concentrate on building dofollow links on high quality websites. Building 20-30 links from website of your niche will be more beneficial than thousands of links from any site.

If you have new domain, you need to do little work on building backlink. If you have aged domain you can do as many back links per day wiithout spamming.

The right amount depends on a lot of things like domain age, current seo profile, keyword you are targeting etc.

    There is no set number.

The number of backlinks should be kept realistic, that is don't build too many backlinks. SEO and link building is a time taking process and you should take it slowly.
If a site with previously 0 backlinks suddenly has 2000 backlinks overnight then it is for sure going to get punished by Google and might not even appear in the search results.
Also build as many backlinks that you can but make sure that you stick to manual submissions and dont embark on an automated submitting spree.

anyone telling you to buld natural backlinks and the number of backlinks is an issue with a new domain is reading too many crappy articles from the so-called authority "gurus". if new websites are so easy to get deindexed or sanboxed, there would be no up and coming "trending" sites" idexed by google. a new domain has as much leverage in going viral and still keeping good rankings as an aged domain does.

what does "natural" even mean? people use that term so loosly and every time i hear people use that term, i laugh because they don't even explain what natural is. is it 100 links a day, every day? is it 1000 links a day and then 100 links a day? natural link building is a made up word used by ignornt people and followers.

every single one of my new domain, i bang the crap outta it with some decent backlinks from social networks and article directories and wiki sites with the second tier being blog comments and profiles(forum, web 2.0). after this, my rankings always get in the top 10 after a week or so for my keyword(medium-low competition) and they stay there. panda was a joke. now so is penguin. people have to be doing a really crappy job in seo to be hit by these two updates. an seo strategy is a little more complicated than my simplified version here, but just wanted to give a small example of what i do. i build about 1000 links DIRECTLY to my site within a week and a few more thousand links on the second level in a couple more days. then i stop all together and wait a couple weeks, repeat the process, and usually that's the extent to my link building for my keywords(at the most 2) i have selected to target for my main page and is usually good enough to rank on the first page(usually in the top 1-5 spot) in a month.

to make a long story short, there is no such thing as "natural" link building. there IS such a thing as quality links and quality articles that you submit for your backlinks though. so it's not quantity. it's quality.

so from now on, don't listen to anyone who tells you that someone can build links too fast. from my own experience, this is a myth by people who either don't want you to outrank them, or by people who are selling you something(information or product) for personal gain, or from people who just don't know what they are doing in seo and probably got hit the hardest during the panda/penguin updates.

if you find your site deindexed or sandboxed, then you have to look where ther problems lie. they will never lie in how fast you built your links. look at your website and make sure the main page has absolutely unique(not spun) content. make sure you have at LEAST 3-4 pages to your website. google DOES like to track bounce rates. normally, the more interesting content you have, the less your bounce rate. you want to keep that low rather than have a one page site where it gets 100% bounce rate. also look at your backlinking methods and the quality of backlinks pointing to your main page. look at your inner pages. make sure they have some backlinks that google recognizes. if all your backlinks are going to your main page and there are none going to your inner pages, that kinda looks suspicious.

hope this helps you recognize a problem better if google slaps ya. don't look in the wrong areas to try and find a solution to the problem. usually the problem is right under your nose. blaming building links to fast is easy to assume based on the rumors out there, but it's going to turn your focus away from where the real problem lies.

The number of backlinks for your websites is depend on your targeted keywords means if you use less competitor keywords, you need not to build huge backlinks. You can rank with few quality backlinks. If you use high competitor keywords, then you need to build huge number of quality backlinks for rank your website in search engines., so there is no any standard limit for build backlinks per day for a website.

While starting off, maintain consistency. That is the key to well approved backlinking. Not like 15 backlinks on the 1st day and then 2 on the 2nd! Just be consistent and keep in mind that you need to incorporate diversity in your link portfolio. That's about it!
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[6199459].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author CyborgX
I think what matters is consistency. If you start off with a lot coming in, it should remain that way.

Try to look at from another perspective. If you advertised your website on TV you would suddenly have your address crop up on social networking sites, forums, blogs... and then some people might start writing articles about the site/service and people would link to those, and so on; and with TV advertising a site could blow up in a big way.
Plenty of big companies do this, and their sites grow in popularity at an alarming rate, and they don't get deindexed.

The rate of growth just needs to be consistent, and the type of backlinking congruent with the rate of exposure.

This depends on your link velocity history and your plan to keep it up. Your ranking will suffer if Google detects unnatural link velocity.

Where are you getting your info from? Someone just said link velocity is a load of crap. Matt Cutts does mention link velocity in one of his videos though when someone asked a question about link building.

I think you should consider the monthly number rather than daily number. I think anywhere from 500 to 1000 backlinks each month would look natural to google.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[6526263].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author fire3fly
I have found that as long as I am building backlinks out to each page with keyword diversity, the velocity doesn't really matter.

I think it is more important to look at building a natural linking structure with high quality backlinks.

I publish a good article last week, a lot of visitors want to link to my website, so I get 1000 backlinks last week.
I publish a bad article this week , nobody want to link to my website. I get 0 backlink this week.

Do you think this is unatural backlinks when I didn't build any backlinks ?

Their is no limit you should stick to, the key is to be consistent. So if you decide to make a 50 backlinks the first day, you better be prepared to keep that up for months. So its recommended to start small and build up.

Making 50 backlinks 1 day, then not making any for 2 weeks, then making 100 backlinks, that tells Big G that your trying to "Game" the system, and you will suffer those consequences.

Before I worry about backlinks, I always make sure my meta tags, site description, and url name are done correctly 1st.

If you are using a blog, make sure you use ALL IN ONE SEO just to make sure that the on-site stuff is done right.

I would do a link-wheel. Not random backlinks. My opinion is that a lot of the advice about backlinks is totally wrong. Stick with a link-wheel that is related to the same topic as your website. I have seen this work 10x better that just a bunch of random backlinks.

There is no such thing as link velocity, or a "safe" or "natural" number to the amount of links you should build.

Press releases are proof of this.

A single press release might see tens of thousands of links coming in literally overnight. There's nothing black hat or wrong with this method.

Infact its a great way to supplement your seo efforts.

Anyone that tell you that you shouldn't build too many links too quickly doesn't know what they're talking about.
