Best way to get (or even trick) users into clicking your ads?

We all know that adsense is not the best way to get rich, but there's got to be ways to get your users to click your ads more often without violating the TOS?

The only thing I could think of was to use the YouTube ads and put "See Video Below" above it, but even that does't get people to actually click the ads in the video itself?

Any advice or examples much appreciated!

I'd be curious too. I get people to my site...but to get them to click the ads...that's the problem...

I just got the idea of blending as much as possible (from a user from another forum). So what I thought of right off the bat would be to blend my ads in with my user generated comments.

What do you mean exactly by blending? Wouldn't that go against the Terms?

        Hi CommonDavid,

If you are looking to trick users into clicking your ads you are on a rapid path to being banned for life from AdSense.

You should be asking how can I attract visitors who would have a strong interest in buying from my advertisers? And, how can I write copy that persuades them to go ahead and make a purchase of the type of items my advertisers are selling?

You don't get to trick people out of their money without some sort of consequence. Advertisers are not happy paying for useless clicks, Google doesn't like unhappy advertisers and users don't like Google sending them to websites that trick them. They will all become your enemy, expect consequences!

          Great quote Don.

I'd also like to add that too many people put all of their eggs into one basket. I personally don't like and have never liked "AdSense only" sites exactly for this reason.

I would instead find a separate primary income source for the site you're referring to and then simply place AdSense ads where they would fit naturally.

Agree 100%.. As soon as you start down the road of trying to trick visitors into clicking your adsense then your account is doomed.

            Hi David,

Don't cheat on people from google, their system is great.

Even you place an image or fake video (image like video) or something else at your ads.

A few day later your account will banned by google. Don,t break their TOS

Well put. Why not focus on real honest, good advertisement techniques as opposed to "tricking"?

A lot of the free template sites put AdSense above & below the Download link, have a vertical menu on the right with a "fake" menu full of AdSense links across, that is horizontal before the content. BUT, unless you're offering something of great value (i.e. quality templates for free or hopefully even better), it'll tick your users off big time.

I have very little experience with AdSense and do not know what is against the rules, so be careful. Those are just a few ways I've seen people place AdSense. There has to be better ways than tricking your visitors though...!

Nicely put Don, I cannot imagine how you can blend or trick the system (or the way you format your site) into someone just clicking for the heck of clicking. If it happens it will probably make you ads less paying type ads.
and i would rather built a website that can incorporate those affiliate products which I have been searching for while but just cannot find the niche and where to put it in my website.

No offense but just my 2 cents idea

    Thanks

I think the best way to get people to click on your ads is to write quality content for your site that will attract people to keep coming back to your site again and again, so there is a better chance for people to click your ads. As far as trying to trick people into clicking ads. i don't think that's the best route to go.

Hi guys- I have read this but have not out it into practice yet- but wanted to share... The way I understood blending is that you make the background of your ad the same color as the background of your web page and you have no border so the ad blends into the page and looks less like an ad- we have all had 'ad blindness' where we look at pages and don't even see the flashing banners and all the 'click on me' buttons, so they are saying make them subtle. Yes you also need quality content pertaining to your ads on your page, and you can update that information with an RSS feed. Another thing is- you should have multiple streams of income on your adsense web page. I hope this helps.

I have a free Adsense ebook if your interested PM me if your interested.

Best way is contextual advertising.... or inline ads..

first off forget about tricking anyone. just follow with the TOS and you will be fine.

the best way to get more clicks and not get banned is to blend the ads with your content.

if you have a blog for example - place a 468 ad slot matched to your text and Background color (no borders) in between the title and the content. you can do this on the template.

or if you dont care about your readers, do it in the middle of the text. There is a WP plugin called adsense injection that will do this at random places in your posts if you are using WP

If people don't click your ads, you have a problem with your site, not with your ads...it's only about content. The more useful for your visitors, the more targetted towards what they are really looking for, the more clicks you'll get on your ads.

Never build a site around ads, this approach is flawed from the beginning.

Keywords targeting is a good way, include your keywords in your ad text to show users that your ad relates to the people you are trying to reach

And as I've heard Google Adsense now don't allow access to newly registered sites. They will only let you put their adds on your site if your account has already been ninety days old. And it would really be great if you just a good articles on your site instead of showering it with a lot of advertisements. If you do, eventually there will be constant visitor to your site, which could make you have a lot of money in the long run. Goodluck!

The best technique Ive seen is to have the 3 horizontal ads running with related pictures above each ad.

think of the navigation and where the cursor is on the page after a click. If you have nav on the right hand side on the home page...on the next page, make that right hand side an ad unit.
