I have been running an ad campaign for the last 6 months, and when I add keywords to the campaign, it seems as though google stops using my previous keywords as much. Anyone else seeing the same?

Are you adding keywords to an existing adgroup? Or a new adgroup.

Adding them to an existing adgroup means all those keywords are being "shared" within the one adgroup.

Are the keywords you are adding in the same adgroup tightly related to each other? They should be. If not that could be your problem.

I suggest you group together keywords that are tightly related to each other. This helps when creating ads as well to ensure the ads are highly targeted to the chosen keywords.

All of these things are factors in how much you will pay for ads, how much traffic google passes to you, etc.
