You can check if your website is sandbox now here Google Sandbox checker Tool,Sandbox checker Google Sandbox Checker Tool and to check if your website is banned by Google, use this link Google Banned Site Checker-SEO Tools-Search Engine Optimization Tool-SEG. Give me your website URL and give more information on what kind of links and how much you were getting by your service provider ?

You could be sandboxed or It could just be your site is just Google dancing.. try to use the tool at google-dance-tool.com.. and if you can find your site there it should soon show back in the search results.

But also agree with Luke, need more info on what sort of paid SEO service you were running

Tell us more about the freshness of the content you have on the website, what kind of backlinks you have and any SEO metrics that you can think of. My guess is that you were not promoting the site properly with relevancy.

I dunno whether sharing my affiliate site here will be okay, I just added the site to websmaster tools and discovered that the robots.txt was banning all crawlers, but what I do not get is, that earlier it was their in google, how can suddenly robots.txt can be changed and ranking lost.

Has this happened before? with anyone here?... I have edited the file immediately, but will I make back into the search rankings?

That's happened to me before. Then one or two days (sometimes hours) I'm back where I was before. Don't panic.
One suggestion - go in and post something. Then about an hour later do a manual "ping".
Also - make sure your ping list isn't full of dead links.
    Hope that helps.

what happened was.... There was a WF user who wanting a platform to work, he was having no funds, So I bought him this website, I also provided him with tools and my writers were writing content... we were 50:50 partners .Before starting the work he had promised me so lot much, like he's got resources for backlink tools and SEO, but once he started he just messed it up, he was a broke and cooked up stories of his freind who had these tools and had ditched him.

He could not even write articles, and wanted me to spend money so that he could outsource each and everything, well I could have done the same, so what was he doing?... totally nothing... So I finally got him off this project in Dec End.

And finally spent money on an SEO specialist to get it done. I forgot to remove his FTP account, so he logged into the ftp account and changed robots.txt messing up bot access.

    SO...

He is the culprit, I dunno should I say his name here or not... but you should never help people who want you to spend on them so that they can spend it at their liberty, they are totally gross.

I pledge not to help anyone now!

This is a messed up story! For you to go out of your way to help someone or partner with someone says a lot. I hate that you pledge not to help anyone now. But for the guy to, I guess it is fair to say, "use you" was wrong period. That story kind of got under my skin lol

But I also want to tell you that I'm facing the same thing as you are right now. I'm speaking about your site falling from the ranks. You can see my thread here:

      http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...g-took-me.html

I've received some great advice from our fellow warriors. This warrior named "kung fu backlinks" just commented and said that he seen an interview of this guy talking about the google dance is basically a test from google to see if your link building is natural.

I encourage you to check it out because its to much to post here lol

But all we can do is wait it out bud...and continue to build natural links

        Marc,

The story of avenging came to light when I asked hostgator to send me access logs of the robots.txt and to my horror that ******* had accessed it using the FTP account I issued him (and had forgotten to delete when I asked to leave... its a fault on my part... ... ). This Guy was the limit, but my ethics do not allow me to publicly insult him.

        Thanks for the advice people.
Stop helping those on WF who say that they do not have funds to startup, they can catch your nerve...

I would wait until you have at least a week of no rankings before you worry. Things change so much from day to day. It is very easy to quickly panic after one day of something changing around, but you need to be patient and wait a little longer so you can have a better idea as to whether this is a dance, a sandbox, a penalty, or a de-index.
