I have been doing pretty steady link building for the last 5-6 day's. A lot of blog followed comments on high pr blogs, link directories, local citations, a few blogs that aren't following, a lot of forum signatures from relevant forums for the site.

My question was how long should I expect before I begin to see the sites indexed and linking back to me?

Should I worry that i am gonna look spammy to google if it all comes back quick? my domain is almost a year old, but had nothing done to it besides two links prior to the last week.

Good question, I've been doing the same the last month and a lot more the last week. None of those backlinks are showing up.

One shows up from one forum but not from the other 30 + i have a backlink on. I know it can take some time but it's been over a month for some of them.

None of my social media bookmarks backlinks show up either.

    Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I will be curious to see what some of the more experienced guy's out there say. I am just nervous that I may overdue it. I know they are gonna index the backlinks in real time (I would assume) i just wonder if the results will be applied to my pages all at once and seem way out of place to Google.

As always I really appreciate all the help I get here.

No one can really tel you this. The best way is to index it yourself which wouldn't give you a 100% guarantee.

Backlinks may never show, but that does not mean they have not been found.

It depends on how you are looking for them. It's a known fact that Google display only a very low percentage of backlinks they have found and are using in their ranking formulas.

Bing/Yahoo are much slower at finding links and not as good as finding them, so using a tool like the now obsolete yahoo site explorer is not a reliable way to find them.

Personally if I were you I'd be focusing on my results (rankings, etc) and not the number of backlinks.

That and ensuring your site has a great user experience and great content that is very appealing to your visitors.

Focus on search engine rankings not indexed backlinks.

How long should I wait for the results in my rankings to show before I begin to add more links? I have seen a jump to page one of my non competitive keywords (but I think that had more to do with on page SEO than with links) my other rankings are still not within the top 50.

If you're using tools to find your backlinks, take note that there's no tools that gives you accurate data. If your backlinks will be indexed naturally, it may take some days, weeks, months or even years. Just build high quality backlinks and don't mind if they show up or not. It doesn't mean that you will not rank if your backlinks didn't show up on the tools that you're using.

Keep continuing to build links. The amount is not so much important as the consistency.

Just keep building your backlinks so it will be easier for your site to increase its page rank.

Not all the links you build will show up. This is just the way it is. Some of them are never found or indexed by Google, and others are, but they just won't show up.
My advice would be not to worry about it. Just keep building the links, and ideally the high PR ones because these are more likely to be found and indexed.

Back Links is quite Slow Procedure! It might Took time to be Indexed and then shown! What matters is Ranking! if you are working on right direction and your keyword got ranked then forget about back links!

Don't worry about backlinks showing, some of my websites show only 2 backlinks yet they sit on page 1 of Google for medium competitive keywords. Just keep on building links to your website.

Why don't you ping your backlinks??? The better strategy will be:

    1) Write about 50 blog comments today.
    2) Enter the details in a spreadsheet (URL of the blog, Date, Approved(Y/N))
    3) Check ALL the blogs to see if the comments are approved.
    4) If you have at least 10 or 20 comments approved, ping them with pingomatic

In less than 2 hours you will see your backlinks. Happy commenting

What is pingomatic all about? i just checked it out and it looks like it helps the blog i comment on get indexed? that sounds quite helpful to be honest.

there is no hard and fast rule for this...
if you to show quickly i think you should share the page from where you've got link to other bookmarking sites... that would be more quickly....

Exact time can't be measured for this. Because ranking depends on many factors like quality of back links(theme based+PR), how old your domain is, how much competition your targeted keyword has and on page optimization of your website.

It depends on the site back links are located if it is high authority site that is indexed frequently, you will see faster results, then if it is indexed once a month. it is take the time to indexed and then show.
