After the new PR update

Twitter got PR 10
Facebook went down to PR 9
Google remains with the same PR 9

Does it mean Twitter is growing more than google and facebook? It's not big as facebook or google though.
#facebook9 #google9 #twitter10 #update

Yes i have also observed the Same thing, Twitter Page Rank is 10 comparable to Google and Facebook!

As far as your second question is concerned, My Answer is No! Google and Facebook are much ahead from twitter in term of hits! Basically Page Rank Shows the Authority of Site through various methodologies, Website popularity and traffic constraints could not be measured by Page Rank!

Its kind of amusing that the PR for Google is not 10 considering it is called "Google Pagerank" lol

I'm not really surprised about Twitter getting the PR10, not even the PR of Facebook and Google. But still, Google and Facebook are the beasts out here. They get more traffic than Twitter does.

To me it makes sense that Twitter is a PR10 now and Google is not. Google will fix it soon, just like they did after the last PR recalculation when Facebook became a PR10.
Actually I was under the impression that Google.com was not boosted to a PR10, but rather stayed on PR9... Then again, I don't primarily use Google.com.

Noticed it too. It's hard to believe that Twitter passed Google. It might be some PR error and might be updated soon.

Sometimes new algorithm much focused on fresh content. People share latest news in twitter. That can be a reason. Anyway google will do a change soon to get PR 10 back.

A new algorithm update is not the same as the PR algorithm. Completely unrelated, fresh content is unrelated to PR as well.

Does it really matter what their PR is anyway? I never understood the obsession people have with PR.

          Simple really. Links.

Everytime somebody twitters news or gossip there are always hundreds of people linking back to the tweet.

Like Iamnameless said though. - Who cares? Google being a PR9 or PR10 doesn't put any money in my pocket or help me to rank

PR doesn't reflect the traffic of a site but how many links it got from other sites etc. e.g. USA.gov has PR 10 too but not that much traffic.

Makes sense to me as more people link to twitter then google or facebook.

Very rarely do people link to Google - they just say 'Google'

Facebook people link to more, but no where near as much as twitter.

Think about how many tweets that are penned by celebrities and then linked to from millions of blogs, magazines and news sites?

Think about the amount of people who have a there own twitter profile URL on a page.

And then consider both of the above are on big beastly PR giants such as the New York Times, CNN, BBC etc, etc.

That's amazing. Google has less PR than Twitter. The new name should be "Twitter page rank". lol ;dd

One of my month old sites jumped from PR N/A straight up to PR3!

Give it a few more months - I'm aiming to turn it up to PR11.

Google just sets its own PR at 9 because they are under scrutiny by the government as being monopolistic. It is an attempt at them trying to show the government that they 'play by the rules'.

This makes no sense... you realize that right? Google setting their PR at anything that the PR algorithm would not set it at is not playing by the rules. Why would the government care what their own, private and trademarked algorithm places them at?

        Just google "google antitrust"

The government (FTC) has been worried for a long time that Google uses its search dominance to give preferential treatment to its own sites. Google can use the update to say "Look at us FTC, we aren't giving preferential treatment to our own site! Therefore our algorithm is fair and balanced and not unfairly ranking ourselves higher (now please go after with us with anti-trust lawsuits)"
