Hey guys I have a question about attaining pagerank. Does this come from mostly .edu links? Site traffic? What would be the quickest way to see a boost in pagerank?

It comes from high PR sites linking to yours. They are basically passing PR to yours.

High PR Backlinks pointing to your site. Time doesn't matter because PR is updated about 4-7 times a year.

it mostly depends on pr to ur site which can also be used by backlinks and how better your site is indexed by search engines

You could receive a PR5 from a PR6 (literally of course, if OBL are 2!) // So, concentrate on HIGH PR DO-FOLLOW backlinks (you can get some for free, just do a quick research in google for free high pr backlinks)

Find the high PR websites to get your link on the actual PR page. Inner pages with PR0 / PR1 are pretty much useless. Go for the gusto!

PR1 backlinks are far from useless. (Especially if they're dofollow.)

Regarding the OP, your PR will raise as you start receiving links from pages with PR. But in order to rank you need to also make sure that your content is optimized properly. (Your on-page SEO.)
