Problem for Rank Local Keywords, Please Help!

Hello, I'm from Spain and I'm ranking many websites with different keywords.

My SEO strategy is article marketing, bookmarketing, forum profiles, register in directies and linkwheels.

My problem is that any of my sites are well ranked in general keywords, but not if local keyword.

For example, for the word hunding, my website is on top 10, but for the word, hunting madrid (madrid is a city from Spain) the website is in the position 18 or more...

I reviewed the source code, it is verified by W3C, in the metatags I have the language in spanish and the country = Spain.

Any body can give me any idea or suggestion why my sites are good ranked with general term but not in local terms?

    Have you tried using that keyword in title tag, meta tag, content, etc

    Yes, they keywords are on title, meta description, meta keywords and content. And too I'm creating links with the anchor text hunting madrid.

    Any suggestion?

      register with google local firstly, you need to be in directories, as many as you can( means citations) with all details filled out in those (name,phone, address ( same details in all directories), reviews (as many positive reviews as you can get ) respond to reviews,, website optimised and all same details on site as in directories, content optimised on website,put many photos on sites, videos, make webistes mobile optimised,
      If you work from home or you are a mobile business you can specify a “service area” in the sign up process and choose to hide your physical address,

      There should be only one listing per physical location but you can have businesses registered in many locations , just make those your service areas, Even if you cover multiple towns, you should instead use the description of your business or categories to explain the different services for your business.
      you wont get on local search straight away but if you do all above then it will happen, maybe within 2-6 weeks depending on competition and google, also they will phone to verify phone numbers so the person whos business it is needs to answer.
      look on the google help centre , plenty of info there,
