Easy Backlinking question?

So I have a general backlinking question.. I read about people "building" back links but im not sure if im right in a certain thinking. Below in my sig there will be 2 links to my websites. Just for posting this thread or replying to another post somewhere else in this form, since my sig will be there wiht my link will that count as "building" 1 link per time my sig shows up OR does "building" a link refer to when someone click on my link in the sig thus being redirected to my pages. please advise, thank you.

    Creating a backlink is building a backlink.

    Think of it in terms of a house.

    You build a house from many materials. You wouldn't consider someone entering the house and looking around at it to be building it.

      very true and thats what I figured. So thats where anchor text comes into play then im guessing as well?

      When I comment on a blog or something I should have my links posts as I do i should have them posted as a keyword that I am trying to target

      ie

      not: www.fantasysportedge.com
      but: Fantasy Sports News

      since that will not only be creating a link but will also be helping improve my keyword ranking?

    Yes, you will be credited with a backlink every time your signature appears on the forum... But credit varies from the appearance of signature. If it is appearing many times on a page, its credit will start lowering.
