Squidoo Lenses....do they still work in SEO context?! I doubt it..... read somewhere that Google came down hard on them some time ago....nevertheless, all the best!

You mean your lenses are work in progress. I have no idea how to get them featured.
    What I did:

    -complete your profile and stuff
-build a few links to the lens
    -unique content
-add as many modules as possible until you don't get the "feel empty" thing
-ask friends to visit your lens
-ask a giant squid to like your lens(didn't do this)

After 2 weeks my lens was featured, but then again after 2 month went back to work in progress. So I built 2-3 links and got some visitors and now again the lens is featured. Still after 2 weeks of being featured and not yet indexed in Google(it was initially).

Funny thing: the lens is in TOP100 at #30 in it's category.

Having at least the minimum number of modules (5) within your lens will help it get approved faster. Also including the right tags and a social module like a comments section, poll, etc. will help speed that process along.

My guess is maybe overly promotional/duplicate content?

While creating any squidoo lens you need to follow each step very carefully. Always write unique content for your lens and avoid keywords stuffing. If your squidoo lens has unique and informative content then definitely that could be advantageous for you to promote your site/business. But that promotion should be done ethical ways!

If you check right side of your squidoo lens (once logged in) then you will see percentage of lens completed, I think it must be 80% completed before it get published. You can do this by adding description to your profile, adding picture, add text module, add video module. Btw I never faced any such thing, I think you are missing some important steps.

    Thanks
