Every good warrior knows that article marketing is HOT!

It withstands even the harshest algo change. The SE love them and so do the consumers, I mean whats not to love, free info

But lets be frank here, your not here to give out free info, you are just hoping that you can place a carrot under their nose and then you sit there and cross your fingers and hope that they MAY click through to your website :rolleyes:

Consumers have wised up to this, they know allllllll about the bio box and how you get to say something really tacky like "To learn more about xyz click here"

With this one wicked trick you will sky rocket your CTR

You need to think of it less as a bio box and more as a continuation of the article. Make it flow on from the last sentence of your article.

Here is an example in organic gardening

"So in essence organic gardening is gaining popularity and so it should with the rise of disease. Before you start gardening though, check through our comprehensive checklist on exactly what to and not to do"

As opposed to

"Visit our blog and learn all the secrets to organic gardening from the pros"

Give the reader

1) A reason to click through

OR

2) A reward to click through

But don't sell it to them, make them think they need it......

Make the bio box about THEM not YOU

Tell THEM what they will get don't use the opportunity to talk about you

It makes such a difference in the CTR, try it

    Also, there is a nice technique of writing a part 1 and leaving out the secret sauce of the article and posting in your resource link that they can go to your site to check out part 2 of your article where you reveal the mysterious Grandma's secret sauce!

      I see what you are saying... but as soon as you start talking about YOU the reader looses interest, if you write your article with WIIFM (whats in it for me) AND entice that there is a part 2 then that also would be a very effective way to write

    Great post. I agree that the resource box shouldn't be boring to the reader. I also think that what makes the reader click your link in the resource box is the quality of the content in your article too. If you connect with the reader and target their "pain points" there are more chances that they relate to you and like you and they are more likely to click your links.

      Yep totally agree! Its about connecting with the reader, speaking directly to their wants/desires within the niche.

      I have tried several different ways to utilise the resource box and have had really good CTR ever since I started changing the way I write them

    Good post with some great info.

    I too like to use the technique of replacing the bio box area with a continuation of the article.

    What I have found to be extremely effective is to use the last paragraph (the bio area) to talk about using a method to make the topic of the article easier and then use the link to give an example of how to do the method.

    That came out more complicated than in my head. lol

    An example would be:

    "Another great organic way to keep snails out of your raised beds would be to use the copper wire method. You can learn more about this powerful method here: How To Use Copper Wire"

      This little tip can really make the difference in your CTR which at the end of the day...... means traffic to your offer and to your bottom dollar!

    Great tips guys.

    I find getting readers engaged pretty hard, and outsourcing my writing just doesnt feel right. Even if the writers are good and have good content I often feel like im cheating the readers if I buy content from an outsourcer so taking a more personal approach with these techniques is a plus.

      Let's boil it down. What all of you are describing, regardless of your personal favorite wording, is offering the reader a chance to extend a positive experience.

      Face it, if the reader has a negative experience (or even a 'so what' one), your resource box won't matter.

      If they have a positive experience, and you offer them a way to get more of that positive experience, you're golden.

      Of course, the next challenge is to actually continue the positive experience on the landing page and beyond. But that's a subject for another thread.

    The article should be magnetic for visitors to keep reading until the end and tease them to take action by clicking in your link and become ready to take the next step, buy something, fill out the form, subscribe in your list or anything.
