Hello I read recently a guide on how to get quality edu backlinks.
Its right here

So the guide begins by saying that you search google for a string that is something like this :site:.edu inurl:blog "post a comment" - "you must be logged in" - "comments closed"

That will get you edu blogs where you can post a comment on. Then using the seoquake plugin you can order the search results by their page rank. Then the guide talks about checking if the blog has do follow tags. Seoquake plugin has do follow feature which crosses out links that are not do follow. However when i go to the edu blog comments page there is no links posted already so I dont know if the blogs comments are do follow or not. How can I find out if the blogs comments are do follow or not?
#blog #comment #follow #section

Or you can use SEO for chrome plugin instead of seoquake.

Don't imagine that the fact that they're on .edu sites in itself gives them any extra linkjuice. There's very widespread misunderstanding about this subject. This post may help: http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...ml#post5310746

If you use Firefox, you can right-click and see at a glance with the "NoDoFollow" toy. I use Firefox but don't bother doing that, myself, because I don't actually care whether or not they're no-follow. I get plenty of benefit from the no-follow ones, too. This post (and all the other links inside it) may help: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5242705

I'm using SEOQuake in Chrome. It's really good, you can even see the PR of all the sites in google results. you have to tinker with the settings so you don't show all the info, as there are many unneeded ones.

I agree with Alexa that I would not bother checking if they are dofollow or nofollow. In the amount of time it takes you to check whether or not it is dofollow you could have written a comment anyway.

Do you really think Google are going to let you dictate which links they think are important and which are not? Hell no. People put way too much emphasis on this. Besides, a person who is linking naturally would have a combination of both nofollow and dofollow. Don't you want your linking to also look natural?!

I don't necessarily use dofollow backlinks only. Whether they are dofollow or not, once I'm there I put in a good comment, especially if it's the same niche and a PR page.

However from what I understood in the page about how to get edu backlinks, if the page has do follow links then you get some of their pagerank transferred to you, some good ol linkjuice.

Many people believe that. There are also many others who don't (or, at least, who believe that it's not nearly as simple as that would suggest). Many of us don't seek .edu backlinks in preference to those on domains of any other extension, and many of us don't seek specifically backlinks which aren't "no-follow". And we have reasons for both.

No matter if they are .edu. You should try to get a comment approved in a page PR3+ (or at least PR2!) that has LESS than 10 comments, so the backlink would be poweful
