Hi,

Right now I'm using Squidoo, BMR, blog comments, and free blogs(wordpress, blogger, tumblr, etc...) as my main backlinking sources.

I'm pretty sure these are enough to get my rankings up, but what is the optimal ratio to use these resources.

For example, should I do more BMR posts or more squidoo posts or set up more free blogs?

What is the best ratio that you guys have had the most success with?

Thanks

Quality over quantity when it comes to backlinks nowadays. I would rather build vertically than horizontally. Instead of creating a bunch of new Squidoo Lenses and blog comments to point at your money site, it would be better to pump link juice to sites that promote your money site. That way, it looks like your site is referenced by more important websites.

When I think of backlink ratios, I am more concerned with the quantity of backlinks at each tier. The further down the tiers, the more backlinks I'll create. I may only have a couple dozen backlinks pointing at my site. But then I'll have hundreds pointing to those backlinks. And thousands upon thousands of backlinks pointing to the 2nd tier links.

Pyramid linking is the best way to leverage link juice from a large quantity of websites.
