What is the most worthfull methods for traffic and link building.... Directory Submission or Bookmarking ??

In my opinion directory submission gives a good value to your site, if you submit your site to niche directories and appropriate categories.

Both are important and they have their own importance by doing directory submissions you get more backlinks and by doing social bookmarking you get more traffic.

They both have different pro's and con's.

Bookmarking is a better source of backlinks but directory submissions is better for genuine traffic.

Directory and bookmarking submissions on some high traffic/good PR sites no doubt help in traffic increase. Directory submission also help in building back links for site.

Well according to me, both have their pros and cons. Directory submission is good when you are submitting to good directories and hence will definitely benefit you. Similar is the case with bookmarking submission. Just keep in mind submit quality content to good directories and social book marking sites. They will help in getting positive results ...

Directory submission isn't effective anymore. You will just waste your time if you do this often. Trying doing blog commenting, article writing and submission, press release writing and submission and etc. This will give you traffic as well as high quality backlinks.

My idea is:

1) Submit to directories to see results in the future
2) Bookmark the website to as many do-follow bookmarking sites as you know too see almost instant traffic (this method could help you get about 5-10k visitors (if you know what to do), this won't help you much for SERP (unless you do it often!)

  You should ideally have a mix of both, as both are helpful in rankings. But I personally get the best and quickest results from bookmarking. So, I concentrate more heavily on that, with just a little bit of directory submission on the side for a nice mix of links.

Another vote for social bookmarking. I don't really do directory submissions anymore, but social bookmarking is a great way to get good quality links early on in your site's lifetime.

Both are Good for backlink purpose. One can bookmark its inner pages of website but directory submission is usually of homepage of a website.Directory submission helps to make the backlinks & social bookmarking helps to get the traffic to your post as well as also help to get the backlinks for your website!

Both are great in OFF PAGE SEO. Because both will give you one way backlinks.

Social bookmarking is mainly for the purpose of getting traffic and in addition you will get backlinks too.It is better to use a long tail keyword for social bookmarking. Because it might list in the search engine some times.

Directory submission is mainly for the purpose of one way backlinks.It is significant to post you site in relevant category otherwise your site may be rejected.And if it is possible use the email associated with that domain like xyz@example[dot]com. This is because there is a chance for your sites to get approved faster.

Well in my opinion , I will say submitting to Social Bookmarking Sites like digg, reddit, delicious, stumbleupon etc puts your blog/website in front of millions of people across the globe thereby increasing your visibility and getting you more branding. Also as more and more people read your bookmarked blog post/ web article and vote for it, the more popular it becomes and the traffic to your site increases.

For quick results I go for bookmarking. Directory is handled manually so it takes time to be approved and gain benefit.
