Facebook Ads vs Google Ads (Which one to choose from?)

Many marketers have seen that Facebook ads only diverts traffic to your website whereas Google ads not only diverts traffic but help to make purchases of your product.

What's the main difference between these adds?

Which add program will suit better in general marketing?

How can it affect the website?

    I really haven't ventured to much into using CPC/PPC advertising until just recently. I ran a month long campaign on both Facebook and Google. I listed Pros and Cons with both below

    FACEBOOK
    ------------
    ---Pros
    Better Targeted
    Cheaper than Google
    Able to direct traffic to personal site or FB Page
    Allow Images
    Average users spends approx 30Mins daily
    ---Cons
    Few Impressions
    High Bounce Rate


    GOOGLE
    ---------
    ---Pros
    More Impressions than Facebook
    Able to target search results
    Low bounce rate

    ---Cons
    Not as many Clicks
    Higher Cost
    Average users spends approx 6Mins daily

    Again, this is only my experience. With Facebook, I was able to better target my demographics and I felt that I was getting more Bank for my buck.

      This really helped a lot to get an idea about how these add works but it would be better if I can get a complete analysis of Facebook & Google adds.

      lol better targeted? Facebook is about as targeted as TV advertising. Google ads are as targeted as you can possibly get.

    I like to think that an added value behind Google is that you get some free SEO with it. I have noticed that sometimes you pick up free backlinks and get listed higher once you have ran some ads. I would pick Google over Facebook for my advertising dollars for this reason alone as you may have something to show for it after your ads are spent.

      That's exactly the same thing I heard from people who used Google Adwords that you get an SEO advantage because Google is a search engine & if you use it's advertising program you'll get good results.

    Probably the reason it happens is because with adwords you can display your ad in front of people that are actively looking for something. If you can pick buying keywords and bid high enough, you will probably sell some units as well.

    I will give you two-

    In Google you target your audience based on keywords, in Facebook based on demographics.

    In Google your audience is actively looking for information etc., in Facebook you have to interrupt them and get their attention.

    Having said all that, doesn't matter how you drive traffic to your site, try to create your own list or something. It won't be long before Google, Facebook and every other business that sell traffic will start to play yoyo with you and your business. You won't like that. So try to build your own as fast as you can.

    Follow Google Ad's, for better results than facebook. Google Ad's are way more popular than Facebook ones.

      Yes you're right that's what I've read more about Google adds but also heard that Google ban ad sense account even if you haven't done any fake work like (clicking). How to counteract this?
