Subdomains Domains and SEO Beginner

I'm starting from scratch. Found hosting and have 2 domains.

I'll be using WordPress blogging and reviewing.

Subdomains are free for me. Domains cost me.

Will I water down SEO if I use subdomains? I want to start right. Thanks!

    It depends what the domains are and what you are using them for. As an example if you have a domain topcarsforgeeks.com and you want to put up a site disneyvacations.topcarsforgeeks.com yes you would have an issue. If your subdomain is car related than it would not be an issue.

    Relevance is vital when working to optimize a site. You can usually rank fairly quickly for low-competition keywords. The best way I've found to rank well for highly competitive phrases is to write great, useful content that others will link to. Then I check my analytics. When I see traffic coming in for a particular keyword, I will write more content about that topic.
