Although I haven't used it myself, there's a WSO for a bot that posts articles to Wiki sites to generate backlinks.

You are referring to Wikipedia, not the Wikipedia copycat sites.

I've done extensive tests with wikilinks and never seen any ranking increase worth mentioning... Some tests with lesser number of wikis and others ranging up in the many thousands.

    Even social bookmarks work better.

Their is actually a very good technique of finding out various kinds of wikis sites, most of the wikis sites has got the term Powered by http://www.mediawiki.org/

Use that as a footprint, if you have scrapebox, you can easily scrape all the sites but if you don't then go to backlinkswatch.com and search for backlinks for this URL again http://www.mediawiki.org/

You will be amazed to see the number of wikis you would found, start making accounts and unique or high quality spunned articles.

USEFUL AND SMART TIP: Don't add your links in anchor text while you are posting the articles right away, if you do that most of the communities after reviewing will remove your article. Instead come back to the same URL after a week or so and then add your URL back to your anchor text. This is because once the moderator approves the articles, he/she won't look back again.

    ANOTHER USEFUL TIP :
Wiki backlinks works best in 3 tier pyramid. Lemme explain, Grab your money making site's URL, get a squidoo lense or hub page done, make sure you add appropriate anchor text on those. Once you have done that, now use the wiki to backlink your backlinks. You would be amazed to see the kind of results you are going to get.

I have been doing that for a while and I am getting awesome results.

EDIT: I just updated the URL

LOL!!!!!!!! I'm sure OP is talking about wikipedia, and yet
        look at the ignored replies.

        Wikipedia is NOFOLLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

        They do allow external links!!!!!!!!!!!!!(Shock!)

You have to do them right.

On highly sought after pages, they have militant
editors. So your link will be gone quick.

Here's the way to (maybe) get links on wikipedia.
(Remember they are nofollow, but still can be useful)

You need an authoritative sounding website. Not
        get-more-backlinks-easy-stuff-junk.com.

Second, you need to find orphan or pages that fly
under the radar. I find these by doing searches for
any and all variations of the words I'm doing.
Remember wikipedia is a traffic powerhouse, loved by
bing and google. So who knows who or what will
        surf in?

Eventually you find a page that "needs more work" or
        whatever they call it.

Register and add it. I have several that are still there.

Don't expect miracles, but every so often I give wikipedia
        a good spamming....er updating...

            Still ROTFLMAO!

The honors of what? Just explain what "wiki links" are?

They are links in wiki's, actually, to other articles in
the wiki. Since there aint none that are worth a darn
than wikipedia, just what are you referring to?

Like I said, no wonder you people fail.

And you can all have that honor.

In fact, this whole thread was started by a spammer who
has no idea what he's talking about. Wiki links. Man

Of course he had no idea, that's why he came here for help and not a bashing. Wikipedia isn't the only type of wiki site out there. By using the term "wiki links" im assuming the OP is referring to content software such as the one made by Media Wiki. The only issue with these is that they are nofollow. But there are tons of them out there and they ARE good for diversifying your backlink profile. If you order a fiver gig (or gig from this forum) offering "wiki links" where do you think they are coming from? Hint: It's not wikipedia.

I mean no disrespect to you, but it seems like someone needs to step down from the high horse. The only one failing here is YOU because you refuse to UNDERSTAND what this topic is about, even after 3 members here have tried to guide you as to what type of links this discussion is about. And nice job assuming the OP is a spammer and everyone else a failure.

                  Real class act there buddy.

Use services like Linklicious, nuclearlinkcrawler, lindexed or backlinkindexer.

If you wanna got one step ahead, create a social bookmarking for your wiki links.

Use WikkaWiki - They are mostly DO-follow.
However mix them with NO-follow aswell.

You can submit your article in wiki-pedia but it should be unique and fresh by content and in this way you can get backlinks from wiki-pedia.

There are many wiki platforms out there. Most of the wikis using them are pretty weak though.

Not all wiki platforms are nofollow.

    1. Join Wikipedia.

    2. Browse through the subject your knowledgeable on and make some editing helpful for the public and community.

    3. Once you will become a hoped editor on applicable pages you can start droping some links here and there, but they have to be very helpful, if they are not they will be removed. You will possibly loose your account or be demoted.

    4. Keep a stable awareness on the webpages you have left links on, if you maintain it up to date your more likely to be able to obtain away with more.

Well Well, thanks for some great tips, even though this thread deteriorated into a bizar childish tit for tat session at the warrior kindergarten.

I was indeed referring to Wikipedia of course. I remember many years ago, it was all he rage back then, Wiki to discourage internet markets spamming Wikipedia (any reference to Wiki is Wikipedia in this thread now, oki doki) did make it No Follow.

What jerked my memory was a WSO I was reading that was selling backlinks for hundreds of dollars. I resume these are "Wiki talk" links. I bet most people don't even know what talk is. What Google would think about your site with 50 Do follow and 4000 Wiki No follow back links is open for discussion, maybe on another thread though !!!!! It seems the way is manually disusing in talk or spamming robots.

Neither I am interested in, I am sure Google knows all about this as well. The answer I am most interested in is two post above #28.

In fact, this whole thread was started by a spammer who
has no idea what he's talking about. Wiki links. Man
are you people smoking something rough.

Paulgl, this is a very offensive statement, is downright rude and simply pathetic.
Clearly you don't feel the same, or else you wouldn't have written it, but a decent honorable man, a gentleman would retract such a statement.

^^ it's a forum. Some people spend so much time of forums, it becomes their second home. You'll always bump into people who look down on others, love themselves just a little bit too much or think that their opinion is all that matters.

Don't take random forum insults to heart.
