hello warriors,

this is somewhat related to the other thread -- best keyword tool. can anyone suggest a good one for a news site? the site is relatively new but has a good PR. im wondering if there is a free or paid tool that can help with keyword research on sections such as breaking news, or at least, can u recommend a tool where keywords change as frequent as 3-5 days at the most. im using google and twitter trends to get some ideas on what's hot. is there an added tool i can use to make the KW research easier and faster?

big thanks!

Google Adwords is the first option that you have... Its free.

Another keyword research tool which I have been using is 'Keyword Country'. apart from building a good keyword list it offers many other features like multilingual keywords, profitability of keywords, competitor's keywords etc.

The Google Keyword Tool is best for finding new keywords.

BUT it doesn't give accurate data on the competition, for this I would recommend using the "Keyword Analysis" tool from SEOmoz.

Use their Free Trial and do some keyword research!

Try Google Adwords but Market Samurai is great too. However the latter one is not for free. I wonder if it offers free trial. Just check it out.

Im a big fan of Micro Niche Finder, dont think it gets enough love if im honest.

I have used Market Samurai and Long Tail Pro also and this is still my favorite, either way invest in a decent tool if you go the free route with Google Keyword Tool you will spend most of your time doing keyword research, its pretty tedious the free way.

Since you have a news website you have to take a little bit different approach then standard "build website for adsense" strategy.

You should find old (older) keywords that already exists in the web and in people's mind use fot that:
    - Keyword Blaze: free tool (with paid option) that takes data from Google Keyword tool and analyzing them: you can see even number of Tweets, and Facebook shares for top 10 webpages

You should also build content for current events and topics that are talked by others right now.
You can use like: search.twitter.com, but you should use for only as keyword suggestion and then do a little bit more research.

Wordtracker is the best in my opinion - however isn't free like Google Keyword tool.

Since it's a news site, I would look at Google hot trends for sure! Also, trendsbuzz (Trends Buzz - Most popular trending topics in real time) would probably a really nice tool for you as its aggregate the top trends from a couple of big websites! Hope that helps!
