    Quality article backlinks seem to be going strong...and of course ... and links that are hard to get will always be valuable.

    They all still work. Panda was more about content then backlinks.

    seems that there are a lot of different opinions, someone said profile links aren't working at all now and article sites are getting deindexed making the links not worth anything

      Profile links have been devalued a long time ago by Google but they still work.

      As far as article sites, links from article directories still work pretty well.

      Not sure where you are hearing that from, but again they all still work if you know what you're doing and how to build them.

      Profiles still work, just serve a different purpose. You use profiles and comments and other cheap, high volume links for IP Diversity and the extra boost it gives in SERPS.

      You want it to be a part of an overall, diverse strategy that includes higher quality links.

    All links work still, at some level. Panda wasn't really about backlinks so much as it was about content.

    NOT sure I can agree with you that profile backlinks will give you a serp's boost? Do you have any recent proof of that? Because from all my testing they don't have any value or provide any serp's boost at all, not even for low comp keywords, but if you can prove otherwise then please do.
