You trust traffic travis?

Just wanted to ask how much you trust traffic travis seo competition tool?

I mean, if you check keyword competition in TT and see relatively easy or medium difficulty BUT in detailed report you see top10 competing sites that have PR 3-5 and hundreds of backlinks/ domain...

What you think, to trust or not to trust Traffic travis kw competition tool?

I`ve been testing with kw that TT reported to be medium difficulty.
kw has over 500K competition in " " and about 82K with allintitle.
(Yeah, that`s medium diff. regarding to TT)

So, I opened a site with that kw about week ago so nothing to tell about it yet. If this site jumps to first page O`google in next 1-3 months, I think I`ll be using travis more...

Until that, I`d like to hear what experiences you have with traffic travis

    I'm using TT free version mainly for ranking and SEO competition stats.
    It's great.

    I would disregard what it says about level of difficulty, though. It's pretty clear to see what would be easy or difficult just by looking at the competition yourself.

      I agree, TT level of difficulty for competition isn't something anyone should be looking at.

      Always judge the competition from doing the research yourself.

    TT can fail especially when your network fluctuate. I actually do combine a couple of tools for accuracy when doing keyword research. At least, its better to spend more of your time doing keyword research than starting an aimless project that will not only consume your money but time and effort as well.

    I like Traffic Travis, but I haven't really paid attention to the "Difficulty Rating". Mostly, I use it with a few other tools, export all of the data, and use my own equations to decide. In general, I assume that every tool is a little inaccurate in one way or the other.

    As long as they are consistently inaccurate in the same way, you can still get an solid idea of competition landscape.

    I believe its just an algorithm of the statistics it can find. So obviously it can be off, but maybe if you are looking at a large group of keywords it could give you a baseline idea of the difficulty.

    Personally I like to use TT to look up the PR of my backlinks along with what level of authority they have.

    Think of TT as a second opinion. If all your competition ducks line up, then you can have a reasonable level of confidence that they are correct.
