Question about blog commenting

I love blog commenting. However, I wanted to ask something. Is it really BIG difference if I blogcomment on related website/niche or when I blogcomment completely different niche/website?

For example if my keyword is "fitness" and I have two blogs where to add my blog comment.

1) PR2 "Fitness blog"
2) PR4 "How to make money blog"

Which one would you choose? I would go for both, but is keyword relevance really important while blog commenting?

    Well, in this case you give example with two different PR blogs. Keyword relevance DOES really matter, but compared to PR, it is not that important.

    If I have to choose between these two, I would choose the first one, because the second one is probably full of spam.

    I'm no expert, but if I recall what I've read about SEO correctly I believe that having backlinks from related keywords is extremely important.. but I could be wrong. I know PR is important on your backlinks as well, but I feel like having a backlink from the same or similar keyword is more important than the rank of the page.

    Don't trust me on this though, just my thoughts.
