Squidoo backlink question

I'm reading these threads on duplicate content and I'm a bit confused.
Is it BAD for me to copy an article from my site and put it in squidoo with anchor text leading back to my website?

    I don't think anything bad would happen...but I don't think anything good would happen either. You're better off with unique content.

    Yes I believe you would get a better result going this route. I don't really worry about keyword density that much anymore as long as the information is on topic with what you are linking to.

    I think first you write unique content and post it in Squidoo and then once you get backlink then post the content in your site, this is the ethical way.

    If you want to success in Suqido Lens then you need to read Squido lens policies then you start work on lens. Simple formula for every website. They just need only fresh content not duplicate content whether, its hubpages or squido lens. Just add the unique content

    Whenever you want a backlink from web2.0 sites, you should create a unique articles for that. Then only you will get a quality backlinks.

    Squidoo will check spam by itself, it will refuse your article if squidoo think that your lens are duplicate

    and they don't want spun crap either.

    Even a lens made for a backlink should be a quality lens.
