Hi guys

PR or Alexa...Which is important?

I have PR 5 website and its alexa is 366334

I want to improve my PR.

Any suggestions...

okay well it is important to have a good alexa ranking because there is an SEO benefit built into that ..However the alexa ranking goes up as a result of getting traffic from people who use the alexa tool bar and its important to have it installed. Page rank is also an indication of alot of important SEO elements so overall PR is much more important and having a better Alexa ranking gives you a better PR so they go together in that regard but heres the kicker traffic IS the important thing

Those are not important-although they are the indicator of your site authority and quality.The key is having the top spot of Google for your targeted keyword which can drive sales and revenue.

I have to agree, that the only way that PR or Alexa is important is if you're feeding the EGO or looking to sell the site and touting its ranking. Traffic is the most important, traffic pays the bills.

Both are important as Alexa will tell you how your site is ranking and PR will tell how important your webpage is in terms of quality backlinks. To improve on both you just need to to build quality backlinks to your site.

PR is considerable for authority valuation but alexa is bull****. And what counts most is the SERP and Traffic.

I agree with SteveJohnson that traffic is more important than PR or Alexa. Everyone here is to make money online, not going for PR or Alexa competition.

Even more important is targeted traffic, you can have tons of traffic but if your website is ranked for keywords that no advertiser is paying, chances are you wouldn't make much money.... unless of course you just found a goldmine!

A good answer Steve but I would like to tell you that Alexa rankings is based on the traffic, hence I will suggest a good Alexa is better than a good PR.

let me weigh with those who believe neither is that important. It's how your site gets traffic that's important. Concentrate on the SERPs, not PR or Alexa.

None of them is important. You should pay attention to SEO and the SERP for your keywords, because traffic is the most important thing for a website

When my sites are new, I check PR and Alexa along with my traffic, opens, click through and sales statistics just to see the progression of growth of my site.

In the end, it is all about money to the bank. What makes sales.
