No SERP for new keyword

I've recently changed my target keyword. My site is not showing anywhere for the new keyword. I changed my on page optimization for the new keyword. My domain name is keyword rich but its previous keyword. Is it possible that my site get good SERP for new KW? How?

    Ah I remember when I changed my target keyword for my site it took about a week for the changes to take place in the serps. It's going to take a while, just be patient. Also, check your site's cached page and see if it has been updated to the new changes.
