Alright so I run a ad yesterday and I have questions

1) I'm paying an insane amount cpc $4.56 on KW anxiety Disorder now google keyword tool suggest it's a LOW comp KW so why am I paying so high

- So I consider this, per KW google suggest my page relevance is poor? that alone I can't figure out seen the site is filled with anxiety disorder information

- Google also says my LP isn't relevent? again can't understand why as it's article friendly with many useful articles on the topic

now if I'm too change the cpc max I'm going to suffer in views but obviously can't afford to run at 4 bucks + getting an avg of 17 clicks prior to maxing out..

any suggestions

the site is in my tag -

I am going through your thread and am really not able to understand your concern clearly.

    Hello Solidsoul,

OK, so a couple of issues pop up for me right off the bat:

    1) You are running google adsense ads on your site. If you are paying for adwords clicks to send traffic to that site, that is seen as adsense arbitrage (google it) in Google's eyes and will usually earn you some sort of penalty, possibly even getting your account shut down!

I suggest you stop this immediately. Aside from the fact that you are currently paying nearly $5/click and will never earn that much per click on your adsense ads (ie it just wastes your money), it's very much against google's rules.

    2) I am unclear as to the purpose of the website. Is it just to earn money from adsense clicks & what appears to be an affiliate banner for Panic Away (in the RHS column)?

If this is the case, it's (at best) a thin affiliate site in Google's eyes and will struggle to earn an income UNLESS you can somehow get a heap of high quality, very low cost traffic to the site.

If it is meant to help promote a real business that offers services to help people manage panic attacks, then it certainly does not appear to be that, hence my assumption that it is a thin affiliate site.

    3) A quick "site:" command on Google shows me you only have 14 pages on the site. This kinds of backs up my supposition in point #2 (thin affiliate site). A "real" business would hopefully have a lot more pages of content, along with a real contact us page with full details on how to reach your business for commercial intent, and what kinds of services and/or products you sell.

    4) I am not sure if all the articles on the site are scraped/PLR/taken from somewhere like ezinearticles.com, or written by yourself, but if they are the former, then "thin affiliate site" comes to mind again.

Long version short, I would stop wasting your time & money promoting this site with AdWords. You will never make it work UNLESS you actually sell a real service or product that you make/provide AND charge a decent amount of money for.

At $4.56/click, and 1 sale per 100 visits (unlikely), you would need to make $456 per sale just to break even.

Adwords is not a great way of marketing an affiliate site UNLESS you are super-sharp, highly experienced and have a strong grasp on the elements of PPC, copywriting, online sales conversion and so forth.

I do all that for a full time living (working with BIG companies, managing thousands & tens of thousands of dollars per month on AdWords for each of them) and I wouldn't take on your site as a client because it breaks ALL the rules of good business, particularly in Google's eyes.

Sorry, not trying to be obnoxious or rude. Just trying to save you time & money.

PS: Just because the Google KW Tool says the competition on your keyword is low, does NOT mean they will price the clicks low. That's not how Google prices clicks. It's based a lot more around how much money they can make for a click on that keyword (and many others).

Also, even though the page content is "relevant" in your eyes doesn't mean Google's machine algorithm agrees. That high click price & low relevancy is likely a penalty due to the above reasons.

Like I said, if you keep trying to push the edge with this, you will get your AdWords account banned, and trust me, you don't want that to happen!
