Hi WF !

I have been reading this forum for quite a few weeks now, and decided now it is time for my first site. I am in the process of Identifying keyword that I am going to work on.
about this keyword.
adword tracking tool says Exact Global searches around 880

I found the exact Domain name .com for this keyword ,

when you search Google for this keyword with "" 85k Search results come up.

adsense competition is low for that, which is not really a factor as for a first project i just want to check if I can bring any traffic what so ever.

Vs a keyword which has 2800 Exact Global Searches, The keyword with "" has over 136K searches, exact domain name .com is available. and adsense competition is High over a Dollar per click.

Guys What do you suggest ?
Waiting for Some suggestions or i dont know what am i doing wrong. please help.
Cheers !

Unless you know your competition strength (doing a phrase match search is a very poor way of gauging competition), you won't really know how hard it will be to rank for either keyword.

In my opinion this isn't really the best way to access the competition.
The reason is that all quotes will tell you is how many other sites have your keyword on their page. This doesn't mean that site is well optimized for the keyword though.

Rather focus on page one of Google and look at the sites there. Do they have the keyword in the title, url, description etc. The look at how many backlinks they have and if their on-page SEO included the keyword in the headers.

This will give you a much better idea if you should go for the keyword or not.

buy the EMD for the second one, and get the site ranking for both keywords.

Just because you dont have an EMD doesnt mean you can rank. 90% of the keywords I rank for are not in the domain name (but may be in the sub page permalink).

EMD's do help, but its not the be all and end all. 1 page, or 1 domain can rank for large amounts of keywords. Don't ponder too much, just get a domain and dive right in !

Well number of results which are coming are number of pages which are ranking for that particular keyword. It has nothing to do with number of searches or competition.
On the other hand, 880 global searches isn't a competitive stat. I don't think this keyword would bring you good traffic.
