Chitika.com - What a waste??

Recently I was looking for ads alternatives and found chitika. I saw a mixed reviews and thought it is better to give a go and see how it performs.

I used chitika on 2 of my sites and here are the results:

Total Impressions: ~ 5400.
Total Revenue: 0.53$

This is when around 95% visitors are from US.

I found it is better to not to have ads instead of trying Chitika.

Sorry chitika, you are a total waste - at least for me.

    You can try edomz.com Cost Per View program that is far better to Chitika. I tried Chitika also but edomz.com gives better cpm rate compare to chitika.

      I agree with you I am with edomz.com pop network for small period of time but already can share some experience They have given me the best rates and they pay twice every month

    I always warn people that think Chitika is an Adsense alliterative, Chitika sucks & serves no purpose whatsoever.

    Well, at least you know not to waste your time with them, that's the way I learned (testing).

    I've never tried them, only stuck to AdSense and BidTraffic. I never knew there CPC was so low! That's the worst I've ever seen from a company! Mine used to be $0.30 from BidTraffic/AdSense.

    Chitika can work ok with with some types of highly targeted product-based search traffic. But it can also suck.

    The return experienced on Chitika may be better than on other ad networks. LOL I see the point though. If you think it's too much work it might not be worth it to you.

    This is how good this program is.........altough I heard good things about Infoweb from a friend of mine...... He earns like half from what he earns with adsense program

    I don't like Chitika at all. I think PropellerAds media is far better than Chitika. They are offering good CPM rate than Chitika.

    You guys still have ads on your site?

    I hope you're not wondering why you're not making any money.

    Most networks recommend 250k+ impressions a month. The strategies to get a site to that traffic level are very different then to get a site to 30k a month.

    So are your options for making money from it.

    At 30k page views a month I don't want to sell my traffic. I don't have enough of it to sell. I want to try to keep as much of it as possible. Social sharing buttons and opt forms to an email list are totally fine, oh and any "buy links" to affiliate programs. I certainly don't want any rapidly changing advertisements at that traffic level. I want them clicking internal links which all funnel into the pages with affiliate links or compelling reasons to opt into my mailing list, or share the site.

    The site could be about cleaning your kitchen, or raising your credit score, I don't care about any 1 cent a click ads, I want clicks that generate commissions, in dollars.

    Yaa I agree with you Chitika is bad. But when you have no other choice, it can be a good option. For me, it can never be the proper alternative to Google Adsense
