For my blog comment to qualify as a good backlink to promote my website, does the blog need to allow me to post my own link/hyperlink in the comment section? Because most of the blogs I have, just allow my website in a seperate section. They are layed out like this:

"input box" Name (required)
"input box" Mail (will not be published) (required)
"input box" Website
"large comment box"

And if I do post my link in the comment section also, it doesn't go through.

    Hey Jen.

Yeah that is all you need to do is fill in those fields. Whatever you put as the "Name" is going to be the hyperlinked text to your website.

I would not put links in the comment section. Unless it is highly relevant to the comment or article, that is seen as spammy. Almost all blogs will automatically throw comments with links in them into the spam folder. Most webmasters do not even look at the spam comments to see if any are worthwhile. They just trash them.

Great, thanks! I just wanted to make sure.
