The best Keyword Research Tool

Can anyone help to advise me on the best Keyword Research Tool for identifying Niche Keyword Phrases?

The one challenge I've found with Google's External Keyword Tool, even with the new added search numbers, it appears to not really tell us the competition stats on how many "search" pages there are for a particular keyword phrase. The only way I can see to do this is to first use Google's keyword tool first and get the 'exact' searches, then do a Google Search (with quotations) on every keyword phrase that has possibility to see how many page results flash up... a long job! (

Also I feel Google's tool doesn't do a great job on digging down for long-tail phrases like SEObook does. Ultimately it would be great to have a Keyword Research Tool that does all this, hence why I was wondering what other Warriors use and could recommend?

I use Long Tail Pro. I know a lot of others use Market Samurai. And I am sure many others use many others. I didn't really like Market Samurai and Long Tail Pro has been effective for me, so that is what I use.

Market Samurai is good for finding the exact competition and analyzing every single stat you could imagine. Long tail pro might be better for finding long tail keywords. Market Samurai doesn't really help you with that area.

I've got Keyword Scout, Longtail Pro and a couple of others. Keyword Scout is really the swiss army tool for keyword searching. Longtail Pro is definitely useful as well. Different price points, but one has more features than the other.

The number of pages returned for a phrase match search tells you very little about how hard it will be to rank for that term.

One of the best sources for long tail keywords is from Google Suggest, although it is a pain if you manually extract all the combinations it can return.

Ultimately it would be great to have a Keyword Research Tool that does all this, hence why I was wondering what other Warriors use and could recommend?
I've been using SECockpit for a while now and I personally think nothing comes close to it in terms of speed and quality of results.

SEOCockpit is very good and you'll get the result almost instantly. But it has quite expensive monthly fees. it'll worth it if you already earning income, else just use other tools such as keyword samurai which is one-time payment.

There is not 1 best keyword tool out there, you need to use 2-3 of them to compare and get a better picture of what's going on.

I've used various tools and find Long Tail Pro to be my favorite! The support is top notch-- they stay on top of any Google changes, etc.. and provide LTP software updates as needed.

Google Keyword Tool + Excel to analyze and sort the data.

Nothing else comes close once you've figured it out.

With Excel you can have a list of thousands of keywords and easily sort them by # of keywords (to find really long-tail keywords), # of searches, etc. It's also incredibly easy to specify exactly what you want. For example, I can tell Excel to show me JUST phrases with 5 or more keywords and at least 1,000 exact match searches from a list of 100,000+.

I'll give a vote for Keyword Researcher, it gets you an amazing number of keywords in just a few seconds.

I really think that trying to predict which keywords will succeed ahead of time is madness. Just target them all in whatever order you feel comfortable doing.

Choose the keywords you thought best describe your services business. Choose keyphrases instead of a single word as per your niche. Choose the keywords on the basis of high search volume and low competition.

If you are looking for another tool, try Google Insight, you can norrow down the searches that have been taken place all the way to a metro area and get a better idea of what is going on. When I look for a keyword, I make sure to go with the keyword tool and then to also check insight to what it says as well.
