Google is our master, we really are not independent business owners

Every day you hear new threads, Panda this, Panda that, now google is deindexing HPBL networks, did you know that ALN lost 5000 domains this week (deindexed)http://trafficplanet.com/topic/1885-...ins-in-1-week/

Basically when doing adsense or most forms of IM we are slaves to googles Algos. People can blast our sites with crappy backlinks and take us down, why? Because google doesnt like crappy backlink blasts, so they either sandbox us, or deindex us, Whatever.

Every day you see Adsense guys crying that their account was banned. BLAM, well you should have had multiple accounts, people say. Thats not the point. its just another form of proof that Google is your master.

Basically in most forms of IM, google can take down half your income within a day, depending on how many sites you have. Frankly I am tired of kissing googles ass

I am spendng more and more time on the CPA board, then joining some private forums for PPV, CPC, CPA etc, where they dont care about Google , and google cannot control their destiny. I am sick of google

Its like we are trembling little beggar peons waiting for the Mighty Google to throw us some crumbs.

There are other ways to make money that dont depend on G

Those of you who say, well I am still doing great. Sure, but thats only by the grace of God (Google) , next month whatever you are doing now may fall out of favor with google, and BLAM there goes your top rankings, and where is your site? we all know it happens all the time.

But we all accept it. Why? because lets face it , this business model is 90 percent dependent on Google

A pretty good chunk of my traffic does not come from Google. If needed, I could manage without Google entirely.

I agree with the OP. The 'Google is God' days are long behind us. I get 52% of my traffic from sources 'other than Google' and no longer focus on Google at all.

Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, etc etc etc. There are plenty of sites with LIVE traffic you should be targeting if you want buyers. And yes, you should SELL something. Relying on affiliate income or Adsense is too dangerous.

Your not getting rid of your master, your just changing masters.

It doesn't matter how you try & get traffic on the net, some other person/bot ultimately controls all your traffic.

Even offline, you don't 100% control your traffic with a brick & mortar storefront.

Well Yukon is not one I am speaking about since he is master of his domain and gets a lot of traffic other than google, he teaches the board a lot

what I am saying though is that example with PPC PPV etc, you have tons and tons of traffic options whereas if you depend mostly on Google, which a lot of people do, you are basically out of luck if google clamps down hard on some of your top moneymaking sites. All you can do is cry and start over or beg google to reconsider those sites, But if thats the situation you are in, you have nobody to blame but yourself

I have never had much of an issue with penalties however almost all of my projects have been for bigger companies. If you are ranking for a word you properly should be placed on and are not using spammy approaches to building your web presence you will be rewarded for your efforts.

Create good content + become an authority = profit.
